Monty appears to have got off to a fast start -3 after 2. A momentary glitch on the European Tour appeared to have him -5 after 2, which caught my attention.

Who's going to win this?
Will Foster and/or Garrido hang on, or will it be a challenge from Bjorn, or Larrazabal, or Peter Lorre. Or even Gagli or Gallacher??

Looks like there are good rounds to be had, Monty not joining in the fun though.

Five man play off......exciting stuff.

The young Scots amateur James Byrne did well finishing just outside the top 20.

Looks a bit brass monkeys Doon, and some correspondingly cold putters out there. So far.

It's blooming cold here today.
Just back from walking the beast [and the missus] on Turnberry beach and it's more like winter than summer.
Very sudden change as prior weeks have been lovely.

If my memory serves me Thomas was also in a 5 man play off for The Open at Muirfield.

Elk, Els, Levet, Appleby, Just four I think.
Good win for him, seems a shame for him to have 3 wins in the past 18 months, plus a top Open finish, and still not reach the owgr top fifty.

Wet and wild here

Reminds me of that old joke kwini...what's the similarity between women and hurricanes?

When they come they are wet and wild...and when they go they take half the f***ing house! Laugh

Ah Kwinni, getting old.
I was there at Muirfield, sitting right at the back of the stand on the 16th green able to watch all of the play off holes except the 18th green.
Pity I could not remember who played!
Wrong Thomas, that's my excuse.

Blue Cover Smile Smile

Doon,
Ernie used up all his Open Play-Off good fortune that day, none left to deal with Hamilton. But don't doubt the Thomases, three good wins betwen them this year. None for the other three.

So, the Great (as in age!) Dane won the play-off then. Have to feel for Foster though (even if he is a sassenach).

By the way ... 'orrible course. Jack Nicklaus ... your courses are cwap!!!

Bjorn played superbly in the play-off. Pitched close to the pin on 4 of the 5 holes.

Which other golfers have had 3 wins in the last 18 months? Not many! Well done Thomas - want to see more of you.

Gael, I definately agree with you re. Nicklaus courses.
When it comes to planning a new 'course that Jack built' never has the saying that a fool and his money are soon parted been more fitting. [a 'her' would be more prudent]
