Peeps share your awkward moments, one's that have happened, or when they do....

I'll share some first:

That awkward moment when there's a sex scene and your mum is in the room (I know a lot of you are older guys and have your own houses etc but being 17 this is awkward)

That awkward moment when you're on the toilet and you reach for some tissue & get the last 2 sheets & the new roll is down the corridor 🤦

That awkward moment when you stare @ a womans jubblies and she catches your eye 🤦

That awkward moment when you drink out of a bottle that you thought was yours and realise your one is the one that was next to it 🤦

That awkward moment when you're littering and someone is watching you Laugh

That awkward moment when someone asks you if you work in a shop when you don't

Last but not least that awkward moment when you're in a lift filled with people and it's quiet as F**K!

Some of my 'awkward' moments;

Getting caught by the father in law doing his daughter on his front lawn.

Getting caught by a pub full of people doing the Mrs in the pub toilet

Breaking a tea towel rail in the work kitchen because I put my body weight on it thinking it was a new rail to help people in wheelchairs wash dishes. Gingerly sticking it back on the wall and then having to hide my guilt when someone else takes the rap half hour later.

Having my mum and gran in attendance when a stripper ordered me to eat a cream covered banana out of her tootle on my 18th birthday.

Shouting out the word spa****c at the top of my voice when I'd just lost at cards in a college canteen only to then find out behind me was approx 100 Downs Syndrome children, several of whom were starting to cry.

Yeah I've had a few awkward moments.

not me personally but i was standing near them, someone off my uni course shouts 'hey ma nig*er' very loudly only for us to see behind her walking a couple of black people without her realising.

story behind it was a girl had accidently tuned themselves near enough black via extreme tanning.

A mate of mine is an asbo officer in east lothian. So he's out one friday night with the local bobbies to track down lil chunts drinking/fighting/being young in musselburgh. He comes across a group of lassies of around 14 and one is stumbling about and slurring her words something vicious so him and a police man go over (this policeman turns out to be an absolute b*stard but a legendary one) to have a word. My mate then starts giving the young lady a proper dressing down, as in full on "How much have you had....lookit the state of you your a total mess..your a disgrace what do your parents say?" etc etc. The young girl takes this for about two minutes before bursting into tears and mumbling. Its then that the police mentions that he knows the girl and she can't walk or talk properlly because she had a stroke when she was a baby

Sending the missus a text message that was meant for 'someone else' and then digging an even bigger hole trying to worm my way out of the mess I've made afterwards.

Very awkward!

More awkwardness......... when someone describes themselves in a bad way, and it's actually true so you can't say no and there's just silence.

i.e

Fat person calling themself fat

Ugly person calling themself ugly....

That awkward moment when you say goodbye to someone in town, then you both walk off in the same direction.

Also, I was refereeing a mixed basketball match once. Each team had to have at least two ladies on court, I blew the whistle to stop the game after some substitutions and told the "blue" team that they only had one woman on court, at which point a very burley, short-haired woman turned round and said "I'm a woman, you cheeky git". Needless to say, I was quite embarrassed.

The conversation that went something like this:

"I've been waiting for you to call me all day, I phoned you ages ago repeatedly but you never picked up"

"Oh, eh, yeah, I, eh, left my phone at home, I only just picked it up"

"So why did your bum call me half an hour ago just so I could listen to you talking to your mates in a pub?"

In the interests of keeping things clean, I'll go with one of my earliest embarrasing moments.

I was still at primary school and this one was a fairly posh one, in a converted victorian-style town house. We were waiting for a class to begin on the first floor and I was hanging around on the landing. I hear footsteps coming up the stairs and (thinking it was the teacher) run back into the classroom, shouting [Insert Name of Teacher Here] Alert!

...only to find she'd already arrived a few moments earlier, via the other entrance (this particular classroom had two doors).

We had those old style desks with lids. I've never wished harder to be able to fit inside one and have it swallow me up.

Another one was calling my aunt a b*****d (half-jokingly) as she was showing some rather embarrassing pics of myself with a stripper on my 21st birthday, to some relatives. I was just coming into the living room at the time and couldn't see her dad, sat just behind the door.

Hope it all went well, hodge.

Talking about operations, I woke up after one and they had shaved one half of my groin only - they were preparing for a bone graft which, fortunately for me, they didn't have to do. Looked like a skinned raccoon so I did the other half to match.

Also got caught in the act of shagging the bridesmaid in my uncle's living room on the floor between the sofa and TV. It was a big NZ country wedding for his daughter. Everyone was quite tanked and in a very merry mood. He sort of stuck his head over the sofa and mumbled "Oh, it's only [insert my name]" and walked out again.

The next morning he said something along the lines of "I see you enjoyed yourself last night...!"

Taking a wizz at work in a hurry only to look up and see the window wide open and several windows from a neighbouring office with a perfect view of my modesty.

Walking into a class and sitting down for half an hour before you realise you're in the wrong room.

Leaving a used condom (and I mean fully 'used') on top of your wardrobe to throw away later, only to forget and realise your parents have since been in the room, changed your curtains (right next to said wardrobe) and taken the offending item away for you.

When you're having such a quiet poo at work somebody comes in thinking it's empty and starts jerking off in the next cubicle only to suddenly stop when I flush.

When my Mum walked in when I was having a shower with my girlfriend and didn't notice and started a conversation then realised and rushed out.

Caught having sex with my mates sister, now my girlfriend, on his sofa.

oh god, i just realised why my dad put on such a weird tone about a year after I moved out when he told me he "finally got round to clearing your room". I used to put them in a golden virginia packet and slide that down the back of my old bed. And I mean this was about a 6 year supply of full baccie packs

When I stayed with my mum I used to ping them out the window until the neighbours complained it was ruining their petunias

Sitting watching The Thomas Crown Affair in the company of my Mother and Father in Law.

I had chosen this film, myself, to watch when they came to supper one evening......I had no idea it contained some very erotic sex scenes between Pierce Brosnan and Rene Russo.

These scenes seemed to go on forever....I didn't know where to put myself......I wanted the sofa to swallow me, whole.

Still traumatized about it to this day.

Yeah, a similar thing happened when I was over at Mum's watching an episode of Boardwalk Empire - when some pretty heavy erotic lesbian scenes suddenly took place.

Very aggressive stuff it was, almost 'no hold barred' but with lots of colourful drapery and soft 1920's lighting. It went on for ages and was full on in-your face stuff. No details were missed. Lots of close facial shots and erotic groaning. A real eye-opener that was!

I joked "Gosh, she doesn't waste any time, does she?"

Mum goes "Yeah, I never liked her anyway... always thought something was odd." Laugh

Have been locking myself out the house a few times over the last 18 months or so.

Having renovations so the first time I simply had to break in - destroyed the door jamb and lock.

Second time - the builder had screwed a piece of corrugated iron over an obsolete doorway to the outside. Had to peel it back using a crowbar and squeeze through the boxes of tools immediately on the other side... had to stretch like a friggin' ferret... but avoid slicing my sides/guts open as there was still quite a bit of tension on the partially fixed sheet of iron.

Third time just last week. Bang... out the door and I knew the keys were still inside. Went about my business knowing I'd have a dilemma when I got back home. When I did get back - I hung out in the new living room area (cut off from the rest) thinking what a phucking idiot I am. After about 5 minutes of mild panic I realised I was staring at a ladder. So up I went. Had to cut another hole into the new attic area (luckily some tools were lying around) and then pop down a hatch above a linen cupboard. Nearly broke my leg again jumping down. (some idiot had moved the ladder back outside!)

I then sat on the sofa... it was a hot day so a few beads of sweat trickled down my temples. I was thinking how damn clever I was to come in through the ceiling until I noticed that the latch on the inside (lockset doesn't work so there is just a simple bolt on the inside of the door)................ was not engaged! I could have just turned the damn knob from the outside.

I haven't told anyone about this. So the awkward moment is telling you guys about it and posting it for the 10 of us to see.

Good stuff !!

Remember when my future Wife and I were in a romantic courting days.............We went shopping in Manchester..........I thought she was at the side of me so I grabbed her hand about five/Ten steps later........Realised it wasn't her.........

She thought it was hilarious..........I felt a bit silly billy..

When your colleague rings in and says "I'm gonna be in late because of the snow" and you say "F**K THAT MATE, I've been here an hour in so get yourself in here pronto!" and he says "I'll just explain to my daughter what that word means you've just shouted over the speakerphone!"

I know. Just mucking around, mate.

When he comes in... are you going to mention it or try and play it down?
Time will wash over it hopefully.

we had a work conference last week. to warm up the crowd our CEO devised an activity whereby everyone walks round the room greeting people a.) in a manner you'd greet someone at a supermarket who you would really have preferred not to seen, & b.) someone you haven't seen for years and you're over the moon to have met.

I was happy with a.) but during b.) the HR director hugged me and as I'm not good at close contact with strangers I brushed him aside with a look of disgust on my face. the awkwardness was immense.

He rang from another station to stay he was struggling to get in. I immediately asked if he was on speakerphone. he said no, laughed (a bit) and I apologized profusely. He's a foulmouthed f*cker too but it's no excuse
