I really hope they give Ted a place in the Premier League.
He'll play his darts on the edge, at any moment he could lose it!

Whatever his success rate it certainly won't be boring!!!!

I just hope he manages to win enough on the tour to get to the t.v tournaments! That could be the problem... Sad

Why should this pathetic excuse for a Man get a premiership place......

Every excuse in the book has been used by him in the past and fans that have paid good money to watch have been abused ...

Hope he falls on his face in the PDC......As he new he was leaving the BDo so this tournament was just a steppingstone to bargain with...

No class...

I don't think he has to earn a tour card, unless the PDC have changed their rules the 4 Lakeside semi finalists will be offered one.
Ted should do as well as Hendo has in Pro Tour events and will easily qualify for UK Open not sure about the summer majors though. He's more likely to qualify for the Grand Prix and Worlds than the Matchplay and Euros
Rumour has it there are more to follow but nobody is saying who until after tomorrows final.

I would imagine the young Dutchies will be desperate to get out to the PDC.

I think this is the end of the road for the BDO, i think at most it has another year left on t.v, with the likes of Hankey gone, Steve West gone and huge names like Deano circuling the internet like crazy i just can't see Espn wanting to cover a sport with names like Hankey not there, and as far as im concerend the BBC seem to be breaking ties with the BDO, its sad but it could be good for the game if the BDO is used as a county and superleague system supplying players who are good enough for the PDC, any thoughts on how it could work if Uncle Barry finally got his hands on the BDO?

When he plays Nicho, who do the crowd support? Headscratch

The BDO have lost one of their biggest names. It's a shame but they don't do enough to help the players at all. If O'Shea wins today I can see him jumping ship too, even though he is 50.

Winstanley and Waites will go too, as will the (good) Dutch players.

This is great news for Hearns. When he made an offer for the BDO a couple of years ago, they really should have bitten his arm off for it. Croft stayed firm and this is where we are now.

I have always watched the BDO more. It is a crying shame, but it looks like it will just die out now.

The best thing that can happen now is for Kirst to win. O'Shea will stay in the BDO regardless, and if there is a new overseas champion, it may give the BDO a little bit of time.

im happy that ted has moved over. it always looked likely imo especially in the GSOD when he said he would be willing to accept a place in the PL. However ted will realise very quickly that the standard in the pdc, in particular the floor tournaments is really high but i've no doubt ted will do well

Yes Dean has entered along with Tony and Steve West and Mike Veitch. John David Walton is not ex Lakeside Champ John Boy.
Robbie Green has hinted on twitter he is entering as well.
Full list of entrants can be found at www.dartsdatabase.co.uk/EventEntryList.aspx?EventKey=4010
Entries close at noon on Wednesday so expect a few more BDO players to enter.

WHat makes people think the West brothers will get a tour card? One of them has never won a match at the Lakeside and the other one doesn't seem to be that much better. Not criticisng anyone, just saying that one of them really isn't good enough for the PDC.

THAT MUCH BETTER? Tony is a former world master for bluemans sake, he won it when the BDO was very credible, should both easily get a tour card, expecting big things from Tony when he gets one.

Another thing look who West has lost to, he has lost to the likes of Ted Hankey, Alan Norris, Dave Chisnall and Tony O'shea, he does enoguh to get to Lakeside every year and im very confident he will claim a tour card. boxing boxing boxing raspberry

(blue monday, can't help being depressed, also big fan of the West brothers.

Very Happy Sorry. I just said "seem", whenever I've watched them they've both lost. ALthough because they're identical twins I think I get them confused.

I don't think either of them will make the semis on any of the 4 days and automatically earn a tour card but they should both finish in the top 40 of the ranking list and earn their card that way.
Even though they look alike they aren't twins Tony is 3 years older than Steve

Cheers for the list. Some interesting names on it so far

Peter Evison, Chris Mason, Peter Manley and Alan Warriner-Little have obviously got their darts mojo back and it'll be interesting to see how Co Stompe Jnr gets on but the real name to look out for for me is Danny Dyer, fek me, da geezer betta play proper darts, nah wot I mean!

Sturat Kellet now in, i know he done nothing this year but if he hit the form he was in at last years masters he could surely qualify and do a bit of damage in the PDC, only problem is, i usually support the BDO boys who switch over on tour, ill still be supporting Hendo Woods and more importantly Chizzy but who am i to go for this year, assuming all of them qualifiy we have Jamie Lewis, Andrew Gilding, Ross Smith TONY AND STEVE WEST, Stuart Kellet and Deano!!! Who, any guidence on who i shall root for?

Who is anyone eles favorite switcher (assuming they all qualify)?

It obviously depends on the draw but Deano should easily earn his tour card in the first 2 days and out of everyone you mentioned will do the best in the PDC.
I'd have to go for Jamie Lewis though. He's one of the best young players around has the potential to do really well in a couple of years time. He will probably concentrate more on the youth tour this year and anything that happens on the main tour will be a bonus

Ted Hankey! I'll be cheering him on because he's hilarious.

Regardng the West brothers, in that photo they're "On Their Way, From BDO to PDC today... Uh huh uh huh". Honestly, spitting image of the Proclaimers!!
