Luke has just done it, terrific form! But what is the secret to defending titles both in the pro and amateur game? As it happens, I'm defending a little 'title' of my own this week, so hoping to glean a few tips if anyone's got any to share.

The secret to defending a title is the original win cos without that there'd be nothing to defend. This is just my opinion however.

The three-peat of course is the ultimate in title defending, winning thrice in successive years. The secret to that is probably a lot of luck and being really good at golf.

No one has ever won four in a row so its prob not worth talking about.

The first win must be a sign that you have worked out how to play the course, so assuming you dont forget how to play the course better than others next year you must have a good chance to win.

Great point mclaren, some players are really suited to certain courses, martin kaymer and abu dhabi for example. This is probably the key component to defending a title.

I've got an open to defend in September on a course that really suits me. Really look forward to playing it so I suppose that alone gives me an advantage knowing the holes suit my shot shape and knowing I can go low round there.

Speaking of repeat wins, that sweaty fatso Jason Dufner is having a good few weeks.

Laugh I'm sure S_R will be after the 'W'. You know how he so loves TW's mannerisms etc....

Excellent stuff Incontinent. That really made me laugh. Hope I don't get a penalty for spitting, club throwing, slow play or swearing though.
