***Saturday Tipping Competition - April 16th***

Hi All, And welcome to this Saturdays tipping competition. This weekend we find a mix of top quality National Hunt and Flat action to get stuck into with top billing shared between the return of the flying machine, Frankel in the Greenham at Newbury and The Scottish National up at Ayr. With Channel Four showing four races from Newbury and three from Ayr we will go for selections in each of the televised races. Alongside the Greenham at Newbury, there are two other Group races (to give them their proper names, The Fred Darling & The John Porter) and also a lovely 20+ runner handicap to try and find the winner to finish proceedings. Up at Ayr, the highlight of the Scottish racing year takes place, the Scottish National is as tricky as ever, not helped by the fact that the majority of the field will be running from out of the handicap. With the Scottish Champion Hurdle on the card also, plenty of study (or pin-sticking) will need to be done to come up with this weeks winners.
So, to recap you'll need to make SEVEN selections for the races listed, as usual a NAP & NEXT BEST must be selected and you can chose to have your selections WIN or EACH WAY. The rules and links to the racecards are all below -

THE RACES

Newbury - 2.05, 2.40, 3.10 & 3.45
Ayr - 2.20, 2.50 & 3.25

THE RULES

You must pick Seven selections, One from each of the nominated races.
You can nominate your selection to be Win or Each Way
You must nominate a NAP which you will have 4 Points to stake on (4pts Win or 2pts ew)
You must nominate a NEXT BEST which you will have 3 Points to stake on (3pts Win or 1.5pts ew)
Your remaining five selections you will have 2 Points to stake (2pts Win or 1pt ew)
All returns will be settled at bookmakers standard terms to returned SP odds
Any Non Runners can be ammended prior to the first race going off. Any subsequent Non Runner, your stake will go on the race favourite.
The winner will be the person with the most points after the final race.

I know this is the tipping comp thread but got to ask...FRANKEL makes his seasonal debut today and we will soon find out if all the hype is right or not.Some on here will remember that Frankels came along every year but for everyone that trained on ten fell by the wayside...do we think hes a hit or a miss,is he the next star or one like Storm Bird or Tromos or Crowned Prince?
Ive put him in my comp pick but for all he did last season i wasnt toally convinced that he wasnt just running past trees,to me the only one of any note that he beat was Roderic O Connor. 3.15 will either bring joy/relief to connections or there ambitions may have disappeared over the horizon with its bum on fire.

Nut, I hope he shows today just what everybody has been raving about, he beat everything that was put in front of him last term. As you say we will find out htis afternoon just how good he is and if he has developed from 2 to 3
