I agree, enjoying the story on the island. Really good and keeps me watching to see what he did to be the green arrow before getting off. As you say Kenny, taking out a bad guy each week is starting to get boring.

I think they could make the taking out a bad guy on the list more interesting by having a short piece about what they have done to be on the list in the first place ie what makes them bad guys

Yeah, glad most of the episode was on the island.

The aussie guy is a good character.

Looking forward to seeing more of it to learn more of the charracters there.

Agree, it makes a difference then him just getting the bad guy every week.

i did find it a bit weird watching Manu Bennett playing Slade Wilson then an hour later playing Crixus in Spartacus War of the Damned ...............especially as the accent doesn't change

The guy that robbed Thea, is he going to have a big part in it now?
Thought I heard something about that.

Thought the episode on the whole was average.

Another decent episode.

So Tommy is the newest person to find out Olivers identity.
Ending was interesting.
Some good episodes ahead.

Great, they're taking a 3 week break.
Already had a mid season break.
Next week, they are showing the first 2 episodes again.

Laurel made a comment on the Canary in the photo of her sister & father... I didn't notice what colour it was, but presume this is a reference of things to come.

Hopefully will catch the pilot this time around if my technology behaves!

Right, have now seen pilot. Pretty good, but odd to turn back the clock on eg Diggle being unwanted/unknowing bodyguard.

Noted that Tommy called Laurel by her full / real name towards end of episode - Dinah Laurel Lance. Perhaps it was always obvious to fans whom she becomes. Can't picture her with blonde hair though!

guys doing an review on the show for my college work and its mostly about audience was wondering if you could say why you like the show,why it appeals to you and what you think are the generic elements in it would be a big help.

I mentioned a few points in my first post on the show, but I'd say I like it for the following reasons:

* usual ingredients for this kind of series - action, a bit of comedy and romance, interesting characters (and I think well casted and well acted; don't agree with the criticism I've read!), unexpected twists
* some good standalone episodes
* but also week-to-week development and various ongoing arcs - the island flashbacks (= ongoing origin story), the list, conspiracy [and maybe what's going on with the Lances also qualifies]
* I'm not that well-versed in the comic books, but I appreciate the degree of faithfulness as well as nods to wider DC Universe
* a bit dark and gritty / not aimed at children - doesn't avoid the fact that arrows can be deadly weapons

I like the battle between what is seen as good or bad , there is no grey area just black and white for Oliver. The island and what he had to do to survive on it has altered his belief in how things are done .

Then you have Diggle and Felicity as his conscience , trying to get some humanity back into Oliver .

Add that to the disfunctional family , the best friend sleeping with your ex who's father is also one of your main enemys ( both fathers ) and Oliver really is screwed

I like the running gag that no one seems to know who Felicity is and has to ask. 3 times in the last couple of episodes I think. Great character.

Wow, great season finale. Have really enjoyed the way this has grown and gotten better as the season went on, hopefully season two will carry on the good work.

Apparently, the Flash is going to turn up towards the end of series 2 (with a view to spinning off into own show).

Don't know if this is connected with attempts to put together a Justice League movie (whereas I'm pretty confident that Superman v Batman is).

Thought it was a very good double bill to start season 2.

Think this season is going to be better than the first.

I liked the season 2 openers as well. Didn't realise that genre fave Summer Glau (of Angel / Firefly / Terminator: Sarah Connor / Dollhouse fame) was due to appear.

A bit worried that they've changed too much, but happy to see where it all leads.

So who is Black Canary? Is it Laurel in a blonde wig? Given the way this series has messed with our expectations as to character identities, I suspect it's someone else...

Really enjoyed these opening two episodes, the end of the second one has left it on a real cliff hanger. Be a great opening to next weeks episode now.

Like he'd been told to crack on the 'roids in the off season.
