2012/13 Premier League discussion thread part 2
The discussion(s) continue here guys.
Unbelievable win for the Canaries tonight which see's Man City top for the first time this season, will they hold on.
QPR - still without a win - look doomed and Aston Villa drop into the bottom 3.

I'm just so shocked! I didn't think it was possible, but we now have 4 clean sheets in 5 games! 3 in a row! Who says defending is dead!!!

Mark Hughes has to get sacked. Im sorry the squad he has, the money he has spent it is time to go. Harry Redknapp should take over.
Norwich congratulations im sure everyone at there football club can we proud of what they have done this evening.

If I was a football manager I'd stay away from QPR, I just can't see them staying up this year, I said they'd struggle, they've bought too many players at once, almost all of them average bar Granero who has been screwed by his agent.

QPR have a monumental task to stay up even this early in proceedings. Even Derby (who wound up with 11 points) had more points at this stage of the season. I just can't see where they are going to get a win from.
I think Mark Hughes has gone a bit batty too after reading him saying that a top half finish is achievable.

So Norwich now have the joint most clean sheets this season and haven't conceded in November. My god how we have changed from last season

I feel very sorry for Hughes to be honest, he's a decent enough manager, only have to look at his time at Blackburn but he has a team of merceneries who are only there for the money. Good to hear the fans can see this as well, the manager is a very easy scapwgoat and often an unfair one.

I'm not entirely sure why but, like many here apparently, I really dislike Hughes. I can't see him lasting much longer at all at QPR.
A new manager often brings new momentum to a club and so I wouldn't write QPR off just yet. Cliche though it is, a couple of wins and the table starts to take a different appearance.
Besides Norwich, impressive and to my mind surprising wins yesterday for Reading and Swansea ....

Honestly QPR are taking time to gel. Looks like Hughes might be done in by results but I still think they have a better squad than most others around them.
Whoever thought West Ham - Stoke should be at any time other than 3pm on Saturday should fired.

Re: 2012/13 Premier League discussion thread part 2
The problem QPR now have is that they are two wins away from 17th place and even if they achieve those wins back to back they are still relying on those above them to drop points which is a lot to hope for bearing in mind that they can't even win one game.
Either the chairman acts now or they'll be down by Easter. Though who'd want that job I don't know.

They are a hard team to play against Freeky, very very very similar to how stoke play. theres very little pass and move but when they do so they look good doing it, but its very rare that it happens

I would say it is harsh to compare West Ham to Stoke. West Ham do try to play it around a lot mpre than Stoke do but obviously they are effective pumping it long as well. They get a bit of undeserved flak for there style imo

Damned if you do and damned if you don't then. Every team in the league pumps long balls during the course of a football match. This is English football. Arsenal are perhaps the only exception.

trust me olly 4 games I have seen them in this year (1 at Carrow Road and 3 with Dad) they very very rarely pass it along the floor and are even worse when Carroll is playing

I think they make use of what they have. If you have a Carroll type player you use him to effect. They knock long to him but then I think they get it down and play a bit. Stoke just pump it long and look for scraps, West Ham hit Carroll then get it down and play it wide and look for crosses.

but the times I have seen them this year there has been very little passing used by them

A lot like what Norwich did with Holt last year. You played good football but after you'd got it forward and Holt won it, nothing wrong with that.
And if you've got a nose bleed from 13th, imagine what it's like being fourth! FOURTH!

Yeah, if they had loaned Carroll and then did the same thing Liverpool did and not play a more long ball style they'd be criticised for it.

So Harry looks set to be QPR manager.
Their first home game is aginst us next saturday(which i'll be at).
Hate to say it, but can see them getting their first league win, (dont think they'll beat sunderland tuesday).

Not too confident going to Everton today. Yes Fellaini is out, but they're coming off a poor loss and our unbeaten run has to end at some point

Just read on the BBC that Nelson, Hill and Derry went mental at Ashley Young for diving in the box. You wouldn't want to upset those three together really.

West Brom third in the table with over a third of the season gone.
5 points clear of 5th place as well.
Next two games are against Swansea and Stoke so they might stay there for a little while yet!

From the outside I can sympathise a lot with the Arsenal fans who want Wenger out. If he doesn't win something this season I think he has to. Saying coming 4th each year is like winning a trophy is embarassing.

Funny how motd missed out Long getting booked for diving when it was a clear foul by O'Shea which would have been a 2nd yellow for him. Was a bad dive though, can see why Ref gave it from his angle.
Anyway, hoping for a draw today in the Chelsea/Man City game, don't want City getting too far away from us
