Re: Ladbrokes World Championship Discussion Thread
This World Championship is going to be the best yet. There are so many players who are capable of going all the way this year - Taylor, Lewis, and MVG are the strong favourites. There's also Anderson, Barney, Whitlock, Hamilton, Wade and Pipe who can be seen as strong contenders. Too close to call really.

the thorn has beaten phil twice this year, uk open and grand prix but i think it will be 3rd time lucky for phil if they meet in r3. it seems to be a pattern that one side of the draws, like the GSOD and the WC seem topheavy and that the bottom half is more open
the players that have the best chance are
taylor
mvg
whitlock
lewis is off form but produces his best in the wc so he can't be overlooked,
barney should do well but you never know what to expect really
thornton has had a great season, who knows.
anderson, i like him but he's too inconsistent and you just know he will throw him a clanger of a performance
part, i would love to see john win but i don't know if he can reproduce the form of old
wade: i can't see him getting as close as last year, in a way like lewis you expect him to play well and be a contender

I think he'd like 2 more before retiring, so he can beat Ric Flair's record of 16 World Titles.

he could well be kenny, gary's been off form, inconsistent etc. for the last year or so. he was lucky to escape welge in r1 last year. if only he could reproduce his form in the 11 wc. i was watching the 11wc again last night that i taped, a quality final it was

I know that but I'd like to have seen him in the PDC to see if he's as good as he thinks he is. Or we should abolish the PDC (making all PTC awarded titles redundant), therefore making Wolfie the 2nd greatest darts player of all time.

Looking at Sky Sports schedule and times, they don't give Micky Mansell much of a chance against Taylor. The match starts at 19:00 and they have scheduled the second match for 19:10

Lewis looked very rusty last night, he will be toast against a good player. Mind you, I thought that last year after his game against Heydon!

There's only 3 Scots in this year too (and I don't like Peter Wright so I can only support 2 of them).

Not really a classic this one.... Micky Mansell is in fact Gregg Wallace.

You have to admire everything that Taylor has done in the sport but that shirt? Words fail me.

I liked the shirt. Not as good as Gando's though but pretty impressive. He's a bit of a Sky mascot though is Mr Taylor as that snowman is the one they use on their adverts I think.
Going to watch MotD now but will be following Hopp v Ovens score. I wonder when John Torode plays....

Hopp could have done a bit better against Ovens but he's only 16 and represents the future of darts, not the present. Taylor was little more than average. Tonight should be good - Hamilton, Richardson, Barney and Anderson all on.
