Top 10 thriller movies of alltime ???

1. Basic Instinct - I just love this movie must have seen it 10 times!!.....Douglas is my favorite actor and he's wonderful in it...........Guilty pleasure...

2. Play Misty for me - Love the setting and she really plays the part well............the psycho.

3. Suspicion - The Grant/Fontaine chemistry and great twists make this a pleasure to watch........

4. D.O.A - Given a deadly drug and has little time to find out why and who did it....excellent..

5. Green for Danger (1946) - Alastair sim at his best and a great thriller set in a hospital......

6. Fatal Attraction - Great fun and Close is superb.........

7. Straw Dogs - Disarming picture........Susan George yes please..........

8. The Manchurian candidate - Original with Harvey/Sinatra is ahead of it's time.........Must see!!

9. Falling down - Think we've all felt like going for a walk like this guy.......Douglas again.........The Man!!

10.The Medusa Touch - Richard Burton was another favorite of mine and he just carries this production superbly....Much underrated this film..

The Medusa Touch is a cracking film and I was thinking about it just the other day. Not really a thriller though is it?

Having said that its about 20 years since I have seen it!

Might as well add the Cassandra Crossing if you consider it a thriller!

Things to do in Denver when Dead
The Pledge (amazing film)
A simple Plan

I'm going to exlcude Hitchcock films from this as I could have about 3 or 4.

Assault on precinct 13 is terrific isn't it....................Forgot about that1!

If only the production values were better..........The premise that a serial killer becomes the good guy is quality..........

Urban Howard hawks remake I believe............

The bit with the girl and ice cream was a bit upsetting though....

The medusa touch.....I found thrilling..

It is a remake of Rio Bravo effectively. Great film from the number two director on my top 10 list from yesterday!

Has anyone seen the Pledge - to me that is the perfect description of a thriller. I think that the term needs defining Truss.

Carpenter himself said he wanted to make a western like Rio Bravo but couldn't afford the horses.

Is the Pledge the film with Jack Nicholson (directed by Sean Penn)? If so, it it very good.

The Cat and the canary.......With Bob hope was a comedy thriller that is still a class act...........Love that picture..

Love haunted house stuff in general..............

yes the pledge was the penn film with nicholson.

I think its the most tense I have ever felt at the end of a film.

I have another suggestion that I suppose is a thriller (cant think where else it would fit!):

The pelican brief was an excellent movie.............

Angel Heart with good old Mickey Rourke was a fave of mine..

All obvious choices from you guys.

A real thriller is films such as The French connection, 7-ups, and Bullet.

A cracking shout, Adam and I'd completely forgotten about it. Goes in at number 6 and everything else shifts down a place.

No country for old men is a good movie as is Fargo.

Clear and present danger was a classic though..............

not sure they'd all qualify as thrillers in everyone's book though

Misery would have been a better film for me had I not read the book first..........

Still quality though..

Do not know if it counts as a thriller but There will be blood is a really good movie.

A bit long but worth it.

Daniel Day Lewis is such a talented actor

i disagree. A thriller does not need violence just a good plot with a dark twist.

You're right, I actually meant "suspense" but "dark twist" is probably quite a good definition.

I've had a few dark twists in my time....

I watched the Chubby Checker Story recently. good thriller but I saw the twist coming a mile off
