The Amazing Spiderman Empty The Amazing Spiderman

Post by Adam D Fri 29 Mar 2013, 6:20 pm

Just watched this as its the Sky Premiere.

Thought it was excellent and actually better than the last reboot by Raimi.

Garfield was great in the role (although Tobey looked more like his comic counterpart). However, I thought that the story, visuals and overall pacing were better.

I actually enjoyed it more than Avengers Assemble that was on a few weeks ago.
7/10 for me

Its nothing special. I really enjoyed the opening 30-40 minutes or so but oddly it went quickly downhill as soon as the villain was introduced. Just another Doc Oc

It was a shame really as Garfield is far better than Maguire in the role and Emma Stone played a far better love interest, I guess being a couple in real life assisted with the on screen chemistry

I gave it 6/10 but it is still a lot better than the Sam Raimi ones

Yeah I think it's better than the Sam Raimi ones, but I do wonder if Spider-man 3 didn't sour the original two whether I'd still think that.

I felt the villain was underwhelming, but its main strengths was with Garfield and Stone. I thought that Garfield as Spider-Man was the highlight, he really managed to get the contrast between Peter Parker and Spider-man spot on, his voice just gained a whole load of confidence. Emma Stone was a much more likeable love interest than Kirsten Dunst's Mary-Jane.

I felt the villain was alright, probably about the same level as the Green Goblin and Doc Oc, I think the second film has a lot of potential. I think it could very much be the Dark Knight of the franchise if they get the villain right. I see Emma Stone's character being killed off.

I liked it a lot, it was very enjoyable. It's much better than Sam Raimi's version, Andrew Garfield was an excellent Spidey and Rhys Ifans was very very good as Lizard.

I am looking forward to the sequel with Jamie Foxx as Electro...
