What Did The 00's Have? - Page 2 Empty What Did The 00's Have?

First topic message reminder :

The 50's had rock and roll, the 60's - Beat music, the summer of love and all that, the 70's - punk, the 80's - synthisisers, birth of grunge, and the 90's - britpop

So, what was the 00's all about? Simon Cowell? Or am I missing something?

I have heard that song and my life wasn't enhanced at all. What do I win?
Tickets to see Kerry Katona's one woman show where she recounts her life via a talking model vagina and recites her favourite lyrics...essentially it's three and a half hours of her screaming "Mark has not been in this house" "I'm doing this for my kids" and "Chicken Nuggets £1"

Already seen it. Hope there is another prize.

I won't throw a bottle at you the next time you visit Scotland.

What did the Noughties have?

Velvet Revolver
Alter Bridge
Shinedown
The Darkness
Black Veil Brides
Dragonforce
30 Seconds to Mars
Avenged Sevenfold
Bullet For My Valentine
KT Tunstall
My Chemical Romance
Lostprophets
Trivium

All of whom were either formed or had their breakthroughs in that decade. Probably loads more others can add to the list.

Given what you've written I'm wondering if you would be so kind as to not bother.

Saw/endured Lostprophets in Bradford years ago supporting Earthtone 9 (now THERE'S a band for ya) and two others who never made it. Given Lostprophet's lead singer Ian Watkins is in prison for attempting to have sex with a child of ONE and a host of other sex offences, I'm both pleased and proud that I hurled abuse at them almost ceaselessly as I thought they were (and still are) utter s***e

The Darkness make Turnstile sound like Aretha Franklin.

Well I saw Lostprophets when they closed Download 2008 and they were bloody brilliant, so maybe you caught them on an off night. I'd also ask what kind of success Earthtone 9 have achieved in comparison to any of the bands I listed. raspberry

You may have to go back a couple of pages but I already covered Ian Watkins in another thread. In that respect I'm glad the band are almost certainly finished (at least as Lostprophets anyway) but that doesn't mean we should dismiss all the great music they made before then.

Hoping the other guys will form a new band with a new singer (if they decide not to continue as LP).

Well at least I didn't mention Lily Allen or Lady Gaga.

I happen to think KT has a fabulous voice (and she doesn't rely on famous relatives or weird gimmicks, unlike some other artists).

As you say, he just sort of mumbled quite slowly.

Maybe it's because he got shot in the face? (I don't know if that's true, but he certainly comes across like he's been shot in the face).
