Peter Sagan - The future of cycling? Empty Peter Sagan - The future of cycling?

This young man is on fire at the moment. He's had an amazing season so far and is currently ripping it up in the Tour de Suisse with a fantastic win in the prologue followed by a handful of bunch sprint stage wins.

He's had a great season so far with multiple stage wins and a good showing in the spring classics. He's appears to have it all and if he continues the way he is going then future domination of the sport looks inevitable.

Anyone disagree?

Don't think he has the ability in the mountains to win the Tour tbh. However looks like he could win a lot of classics

I think grand tours are a long way off at this early point in his career. However, he is a former junior MTB world champion so he has climbing ability. He has the potential.

He is a big lad though so maybe he can develop into an Indurain/Wiggins type of climber?

Has anyone heard of Peter Sagan?

You know the one: wins quite often, pulls wheelies up mountains, sexually assaults podium grils?

Green beards etc etc

Hoping to see more of Sagan in the classics next year, should be the route he goes down. Doesn't have the ability to win a Grand Tour (climbing wise)

Yeah, I think you may be right. Although, he doesn't even seem to bother trying to climb. He just seems content to conserve as much energy as possible for the flatter stages. Can't really blame him, I'm sure he knows his own limitations and he has different goals at the moment, but surely there will come a time in his career when he will yearn for that Grand Tour win?

He has so much potential. Just seeing how Wiggins transformed himself from TT/pursuiter to Grand Tour contender through body mass and specific training methods makes me think it's at least feasible for Sagan to attempt a similar thing.

He also reminds me a of a young Sean Kelly. He didn't do too bad in Grand Tours when he made the effort in the GC.
