Fifa 14 Empty Fifa 14

Post by Duty281 Sun 25 Aug 2013, 10:46 am

The demo of FIFA 14 will be out for PS3/360/PC on 10th September, two weeks before the release of the full game.

Usual cosmetic changes have been made it would seem. General improvements to career mode, as well as some extra licensing, with better online features.

This will also be released on the PS4 and Xbox One, featuring a new game engine (Ignite), and exclusive downloadable content on the Xbox One for Ultimate Team.

There's a very high chance I'll just stick with Fifa 13. I upgraded from 11 to 12 and from 12 to 13 because there were significant changes to gameplay and career mode. Not sure there's enough about Fifa 14 to make it worth buying at full price.

I remember being hooked on the Fifa 13 demo compared to Fifa 12 as it was much better, unless Fifa 14's demo has a similar effect I wont bother buying it this side of Christmas.

Won't you get it free with the One or is it just certain packages? Going PS4 personally so not followed the announcements on the One but I thought I heard that it was coming with the hardware at release?

Think I will give Fifa a miss this year, other games higher on my wish list.

Gave the demo a quick blast this morning. Got to say, I'm rather impressed with the slower pace of the game, it's so much less like a game of basketball that Fifa 12/13 have been like.

I'm just confused as to why they're still making it for PS2.

I've played about 30 games on the demo now, and I will definitely NOT be buying the game. Too many problems with the gameplay for me, deflections are completely random, tackles are random, goalies are very poor, control is a bitch. I want to play football not battle with the console. They've taken all the fun out of the game.

Still makes me laugh how they make people believe that they have improved the game on the last one each time, its like golfers buying a new driver because it goes so much further than the model released 6 months ago.

Last year's demo was very close to the actual game, and is the reason I bought FIFA 13. I wasn't planning on it but the demo was so good.

Same in 2010 as well for FIFA 11. I wasn't going to buy that either but the demo swayed me.

The demo isn't there to satisfy people who are going to buy the game, it's meant to tempt those who are undecided into buying it.

As someone who wasn't going to buy it, I can tell you, it's one of the worst demos I've played in my life. And I won't be buying the full game as a consequence.

personally ive always felt the demo was nothing like it, personally i hated this years demo and only playerd it once, but apparently the actual game is class, the best thing ive heard is that FUT actually seems realistic now and not just soemthing designed for 10 year olds with stupid long shot and pace issues

I've heard the game is the same as the demo, as it always is. Marky just won a copy on Talksport, maybe he can fill us in when his arrives. And I've never seen a long shot on FIFA, certainly nothing more than 20-yarders anyway.

Yes, only they have tweaked the gameplay to make it much worse.

I wasn't going to buy it. Honest.

Then I made the mistake of going into Asda and I was rather swayed. Much better than FIFA 13 I reckon. None of this LB+Y = instant goal.

Yes I agree it's much better this year than last year, the pace abusing is gone and you now have to play actual football to score goals

Not sure it's worse, as Olly says last year pace slags where ridiculous. The old saying is if you can't beat them, join them so I did. Everytime I played online I used Sweden, and just gave the ball to Ibrahimovic who would out pace nearly all four star teams and score.

This year the pace is slower, there is no instant first touch anymore and it forces you to think about your next move rather than just giving it to the quickest player. I play a fair bit of career mode as well using my created pro, I like that they've introduced the request a sub option that doesn't force you to forfeit the game.

Will do. I definitely agree with your opinions on this game as well, before my success I wasn't going to buy Fifa 14 because the demo put me off. Sounds like there are some improvements but they won't be worthwhile if the gameplay is as bad as it was in the demo. Didn't arrive today so Monday earliest.

Surprised people think this is a bad game. Last year it was all about pace and that ruined the game IMO.

Got bored of FIFA last year, its not a football game any more its a gamers-game. Didnt much like 2012 but 2013 was a nonsense. I might buy it out of boredom after im done with GTA, but unlike other years I didnt even realise it was being released. No fun in it any more, its like a trip to Stoke away. If only Pro-Evo could bring out something half good again, forced FIFA into action last time.

My mate played over a 1,000 games last yr on fifa 13 this yr he says the game is rubbish he is not a pace abuser like some people,if your playing online against other people by all accounts its ok but if like him you dont then progressing through the leagues you will struggle,im really hoping it is not the same on the ps4 or im going to be gutted

I wasn't a pace abuser either, I like playing football the proper way. Shame the mechanics of FIFA 14 are all over the shop, it had potential to appeal to my style.

Personally i enjoyed career mode although i have heard this is just as bad my mate had problems with the loading times at the menu screens and he really hates the scouting system, the more i hear of the problems the more im inclined to cancel my ps4 copy but really love my football games

I dont really play Fifa as I get bored with them, same game just different players etc.
Having said that, i went for a season as Dortmund and im enjoying it.
The scout thing is a waste of time I think, but I like the style of the gameplay itself.

I slowly build up through the middle with one-twos, watch for the runs, through balls, first time shots outside box, tricks to get past someone. Im only in October of season 1 but so far so good.

I thought Fifa 13 was the worst Fifa I'd played, but 14 may top it. Might be the first game I ever return, possibly try it again if I get a PS4

I don't think Fifa 14 is as good as Fifa 13, however I am enjoying 14 and obviously have just had to man up and learn the Fifa 14 way.
