So Much For The Cromwell/Fairfax Era
Whatever happens in the final, the Head of State of the United Kingdom remains a monarch.
The EU continues to lead the law-making because of the Treaty of Lisbon but there are signs that this may not be a position they can maintain. So things are beginning to look familiar.
So all that talk about the Cromwell/Fairfax era looks like being exposed as just that "hype". If the Queen remains Head of State, is too soon to herald the new era of Constitutional Monarchy? If the Queen remains Head of State it will IMO be a huge blow to Oliver Cromwell. Not ideal with the whole critical and emotional Restoration period soon to follow.

I love it sarcasm to expose wummery, it really is funny considering HE's lack of self awareness at times.
