There are european versions of the show.
These people could well be UK residents.

Re: Britans Got Talent
Who knows, more than likely a bigger audience and does simon cowell himself do the UK version.
All the major european countries have a version of this show.
I'd imagine these things are hugely stage managed as well, these acts could very well have been asked to perform on the UK version.
Edit:
Just to illustrate my last statement, the group that won last year performed at the opening ceremony of the olympics in 2012 and had come 7th in the German version.
Paul Potts would seem the classic reality show contestant, walks in off the street having never sang before and blows everyones mind with his talent.
In reality he'd been performing opera for nearly a decade, had professional training in Italy and had sang in front of 15000 with the royal harmonic.
This type of thing is a con really and the masses lap it up.

I'm all for a free Europe with the ability to move as and where you choose but if you call the programme 'Britain's Got Talent' then by definition the talent should be from Britain. Otherwise it's just showcasing that Britain doesn't actually have talent as people from outside it are better.

It reminds me of the champions league where people argue it is false as there are teams who are not champions in it eg teams that finish 2-4 in their leagues.
In my opinion it is called Britains got talent not because it is British people performing but because it is held here in Britain. Should it be renamed? maybe, but it would still be the same show just with a different name just ike the champions league would be the same tournament just with a different name.

Singers and dancers should be banned from taking part. There are other shows which cater for their talent and does the Queen need to sit through more people who aren't Pavarotti murdering Opera.
Bored of street dance and people who think their pets/kids are talented. In fact, hate the who f*****g thing and it's only saving grace is the fact Louis Walsh isn't involved. As Frankie Boyle says, Simon Cowell's botox job looks like it's been done by a prison inmate who's just finished a three week upholstery course but at least his hair is now no longer the most ridiculous looking thing on his head

I can't stand this show, but one thing that bugs me is singers taking part.
Surely if you're worth anything as a singer you should go on X-Factor

Or the Voice.
I mean I don't get it. Unless you're a gimmick act like Boyle, surely somethings up if you're on BGT

Re: Britans Got Talent
Who watches this crap? This sort of cheap format deserves to have been left in the 1970's and Simon Cowell should be shot.

I'd say the people who enter these shows tend to be thick enough already

Hard to tell who is thicker, those in it, or those who watch it.

Or those who do neither yet feel compelled to comment upon it.

At least I'm spending less time on it. I'm astonished that the British public have put up with such drivel for so many years. Are their lives so bad they'll watch hours of this dross year after year?

Different tastes for different people I assume. I can't abide Downton Abbey but it wouldn't be sensible to put down those who can based on their affinity towards a television program.

Downton Abbey is boring, would rather watch paint dry.

Re: Britans Got Talent
Some folk would watch an episode where Downton Abbey gets a new coat of paint and the cast stand idly by watching it dry...in HD
