Ooh! Lots of majors? Wins here? First and second in the world? Popularity?

Re: Wimbledon Day 7.... or 8?
Much better from Novak tonight. The returns of serve were absolute top notch, particularly match point.
Now it gets tough though. Despite the 0-9 H2H, I really think Cilic has a chance. He's playing very well. It will presumably be Novak's first trip to court 1?
Should Novak beat Cilic, I still can't see him getting past Andy in the SF.

Thanks, and thank you also for the earlobe post. A Novak victory feels a little hollow without your traditional mocking along the way!Jahu wrote:I send my congrats to HMM for his man.

I wouldn't write him off completely against Andy should they meet. If he returns like he did tonight against Tsonga, Andy would be in trouble.

Djokovic and Nadal should be on Court 1 on Wednesday. I'm doing my rain dance

Re: Wimbledon Day 7.... or 8?
Andy was not anything special today, if Djoko can take same pounding from Andy in SF, he can beat Andy.
Still to see Andy under real pressure. Kevin did it for 15 min, Tsonga did it 45 min.
Still early.

Djokovic did well today to not let Tsonga back in.

Well, both Andy and Novak have to beat a couple of in form players to get to the semis, but if they do then I think it'll be the usual Novak v Andy match, seperated by fractions.
They've played 5 sets on grass and Murray has won all of them. But every single set has been incredibly tight. I do think Andy moves fractionally better on grass, and his superior slice helps, but otherwise I think there's a piece of paper between them.

Expected results. QFs are developing nicely. Have a feeling one of the big 4 will be beaten but no idea which one.

Re: Wimbledon Day 7.... or 8?
cilic - djokovic: dont see why would cilic beat novak now when he never did
murray - dimitrov: I believe dimitrov would be a threat for nadal, but not for murray at this moment
wawrinka - feliciano: no idea what can happen here. feliciano is in the form of his life and stan looks nice, but the year has been quite confusing
raonic - snishikori: my bet would be raonic cos of his serve and nishikori not beeing an specialist
federer - robredo: I think what happened at the usopen was just a rare event. expect roger to do it fast
nadal - kyrgios: in theory number one has to prevail against a teenager ranked 144, but the hype has been such and nadal has this history in recent years... so who knows
my bet for tomorrow:
feliciano
federer
raonic
nadal

A certain Stacko Whisky never beat Fed before but we all knew what happend in 2013 Wimbledon
A complete junk of a player Darcis never beat Rafa before but we all knew what happend in 2013 Wimbledon
A Certain Cilic gave a nightmare game on Djoko's fav surface clay in FO, and this around its Cilic's better surface vs Novak's worst surface, I certainly see Cilic giving more than enough test to Djoko, and upset for you is not the case for me.
I certainly would bet on Cilic to beat Djoko.
naxroy wrote:murray - dimitrov: I believe dimitrov would be a threat for nadal, but not for murray at this moment
Dimitrov would not be a threat for Nadal but would be an exception test for Murray's form, Murray is eating his draw with ease we can find out the reality in the upcoming match. [/quote]
naxroy wrote:wawrinka - feliciano: no idea what can happen here. feliciano is in the form of his life and stan looks nice, but the year has been quite confusing
Stan would win in 3-4 in general but given his unpredictability in grass yes I agree this could be a very close game.
naxroy wrote:raonic - snishikori: my bet would be raonic cos of his serve and nishikori not beeing an specialist
Raonic should have it easy given this is grass, but can't count Kei out in this year, A kei win in st. sets would be awesome quarters against Rafa
naxroy wrote:federer - robredo: I think what happened at the usopen was just a rare event. expect roger to do it fast
Agreed with you, I still can't figure out what happened in US, for me Roger purposefully tanked the match.
naxroy wrote:nadal - kyrgios: in theory number one has to prevail against a teenager ranked 144, but the hype has been such and nadal has this history in recent years... so who knows
Agree with you again, Nadal in straights, but if the rookie could give Nadal a scare and steal a set we would all be happy for him and Tennis future.

Even though I differed in most of your views the final results of yours is what I am expecting too, but would love to see your hero Nadal upset in 3

Poor Jo has been stung twice by an utter worldie of a return on match point on Centre Court now - last night and the 2012 SF v Murray.
And both times it's been called wide and the player has had to challenge!!

Not much between them. Novak's is perhaps a tougher angle but both great returns. The Special Juan wrote:http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/tennis/18728934

Andy's is almost identical to Novak's USO11 return against Federer.
By the way, I assume you mean "other worldly" rather than "utter worldie"?

Re: Wimbledon Day 7.... or 8?
Has to be Djokovic's.
As Andy fan whilst I loved his, I think Djokovic took the ball just slightly higher and for that makes it the better shot.
