Justin Roberts released
Justin Roberts released
Apparently he was released with immediate effect after last nights RAW.
Reports going around that he apparently flipped the bird to Michael Cole after a heated argument at ringside.

Re: Justin Roberts released
The official line from WWE:
“WWE has chosen to not exercise its option to renew ring announcer Justin Roberts’ contract. Effective immediately, Roberts is released from WWE.
WWE wishes him the best in all his future endeavors.”
Who else announces on Raw?

I really don't get why they released him. He was a decent announcer. I just fear that they'll start roping in divas to do it, and we'll get a repeat of "Ginger Mahal".

Re: Justin Roberts released
To be fair Justin Roberts was "promoted" from NXT and/or ECW I think, they'll probably do the same again with whoever's on NXT these days.
Or it'll be a diva.

Yeah but you shouldn't fire someone who is good at there job. Like firing Alan sugar from the apprentice.

Re: Justin Roberts released
The WWE seemingly have strict rules and regulations regarding what is acceptable content, they house a child friendly environment, if an employee is flipping the bird at ringside in front of Children then they risk the parents of those Children not taking their kids back to live shows which is and always will be the WWEs lifeblood.
You might see it as a minor point, I do too but don't underestimate the damage some moral outrage can cause to a company so driven in being Kid friendly.
You say he's good at his job, I'd disagree but is being so publicly unprofessional a sign of someone who is good at his job? Flip the bird, who even does that anymore, I think he's been watching to much of the Network

I agree completely with Kay Fabe. Doesnt matter how good you are, especially in his position, if you act unprofessionally in a professional environment you'll be out of your arse.
That said, the dirt sheets are reporting that they couldnt come to terms on a new contract so just dropped him.

The best thing Justin Roberts did was sell being choked by Daniel Bryan.

Re: Justin Roberts released
JBL has come out and stated that there was never even an incident of Justin flipping the bird at Michael Cole, and that both Cole and Roberts are still good friends.
