Gogglebox

Anyone here watch this? I didn't expect it to be my sort of thing at all but one of the Bat girls introduced me to it and I find it quite funny. Admittedly, only in some places - you do have to sit through some tedious bits. However, if you're in a goodish mood and feeling pretty relaxed, I would recommend giving it a go.

Best show on the telly.

Dave - thanks for your considered and thoughtful contribution to this discussion. I did rather fear the worst when I first heard about the programme but, to my surprise and as said in my opener, actually find it quite funny. Glad I'm not alone even if you're not with us.

Also, how does sitting watching tv and being filmed doing it qualify one to be a "celebrity"? Some dude with a harelip ended up on Celebrity Big Brother on the back of this show. Still given the other f*cking no-marks that he was cooped up with, I supposed he's as qualified as anyone to be in there.

Dave - I can't abide Celebrity Big Brother and didn't know of any connection between that and Gogglebox. I've only watched the last couple of episodes and to my mind the people on it are a long way off being ''celebrities''. However, that doesn't disqualify them from being funny or, I'm pleased to say, me having a laugh.

Gogglebox. ......These people are appearing on other shows as if they're celebrities..........so we're making people celebrities for doing absolutely nothing now?.......sums society up quite well these days.
