The qualifying rounds for the World Championships are now well under way and veteran performers Ken Doherty and Alan McManus moved to within two wins of another appearance at The Crucible. Steve Davis holds a 7-5 advantage over Jamie Cope and there was an early exit for another veteran Anthony Hamilton.

It was a golden chance considering he led 7-2.

Mark Davis hammers Ken Doherty 10-3 to reach The Crucible. This will be his tenth appearance at The Crucible and has not got further than the Second Round.

Looks like we'll have to listen to lots more tinks in the commentary box. laughing

Anthony McGill beats Mark King 10-9 in a nail-biter sealing the win with a century break and will make his debut at The Crucible. That completes a good day for the Scots with three out of the four in the last qualifying round reaching Sheffield. That completes the first half of the final qualifying round matches with the final session this evening.

Through in tonight's matches to The Crucible are:-

Stuart Carrington
Robin Hull
Zhang Anda
Jimmy Robertson
Robbie Williams
Matthew Selt
Robert Milkins
Kurt Maflin

I haven't checked but I am sure there are at least three Crucible debutants there.
