Wayward Pines Empty Wayward Pines

Post by westisbest Fri May 15, 2015 7:01 pm

Anybody watch this last night? 9 on Fox.

A secret service agent (Matt Dillon) goes to Wayward Pines in search of 2 federal agents, who are missing.

Not all is as it seems.

Also looks impossible for him to ever leave.

Thought it was a decent first episode. Am a fan of Matt Dillon. Looking forward to seeing how this turns out.

So you got it same day as us , eh , westisbest ?

I like the look of it for starters.  The location seems to owe a good deal to Twin Peaks ; but the feel and mood reminds me more of The Prisoner...if anyone else on here is old enough to remember that one Smile

Obviously, yes - and that's the original ' 60s series, not the later remake! Wink

Don't have access to Fox but will look out for Westward Pines elsewhere. Westy and I often have similar tastes on crime / sci fi tv drama.

Episode 1 had enough to keep me interested. Episode 2 was better I think - it seemed to establish it's own identity more, away from Twin Peak/The Prisoner, but still with enough of a surreal and mysterious flavour.

I also like that there is a significant 'outside world', which again makes it different to the other 2 shows.

Rather fizzled out after an interesting start , didn't it ? The switch to a basic (and very implausible ) science fiction story after five episodes pretty much killed it ...
I've stayed with it and will watch the final ep next week ; but I doubt I'll bother with any subsequent seasons.

Presume everyone else has already abandoned ship ?

Agree with the above - it has lost its intrigue now.

The only thing that's keeping me watching is how strange the doctor seems, I think there could be a trick or two up his sleeve!

Saying that, I haven't watched last weeks episode yet, so it could be guff!
