"Why make it simple when you can make it complicated." (Loose translation). Monfils personifies quite brilliantly this expression.

To a point I would agree.. only some of the shots he plays are quite the reverse, complicated but he can make them look simple.

In fairness, he did not have a simple task on his hands today.. it should always have been his match, but Cuevas made him work for it.
So often though he did make hard work of some of the simple shots..

But heh... THAT IS Montfils.

Cmon Gael get the swiss pomposity in the next round. No man should be allowed to eat as many cupcakes as Federer unless he is 130 pound Japanese guy in eating contest or a fat kid who sweatly jumped over the wall at fat camp.
