Surprised there's no thread in here for this. Anyway, it has been officially announced today.

I am so excited for this. Fallout 3 is up there as one of my favourite games of all time and it's been 7 years since that and 5 since New Vegas (which I liked less but was still really good). Now hopefully Mass Effect 4 is announced at E3 and I will be never seen again.

What's the premise of the Fallout franchise? And why does the guy have a dog, just like Will Smith in I Am Legend?

The premise is about a fallout Azzy, the dog is similar (rather than just like) to the one in I Am Legend.

100% agree with that, Mass Effect 2 is one of the best games i've ever played less so 3 but still good, only played New Vegas which I really enjoyed once you get to the strip, the extended prologue was a bit boring.

Fallout 3 was great but nothing tops the Fallout 1 and 2 games on PC for me, turn based and much more laid back.

No problem, I've read up on all three previous games and nowhere does it tell me what the game is actually about, what you do etc. So thanks to you £45 will be going on another game. I'll let the developers know it's all on your shoulders.

Knowing what games you like Azzy then I'd certainly recommend getting it, Fallout 3 was for me one of the greatest games ever made, it's Elder Scrolls meets I Am Legend.

It's a decent game, not sure I'd go that crazy on it though Very Happy

Was hoping that they would mention a possible Fallout MMO but think the ESO disaster has probably muted that possibility for a while.

Probably a better long term inevestment, and with less DLC, though not as many Bloatflies or Deathclaws, so kinda balances out...

Bethesda will understand

No mention of the ridiculously sold out Pipboy edition?

The £100 bundle featuring a real life wearable Pipboy sold out twice already, no more to be made. Selling on eBay at a ridiculous price.

Anyone else had a go at this already? I'm already encountering bugs while trying to build up my settlement. I've cleared rooms of any objects yet I can't seem to put a bed anywhere!

Not had an issue with that, stuck beds everywhere! Got a water supply running to the settlement, built about 4 new houses, power in some of them and machine gun turrets set up to protect them.

I think there was a big when placing things. It seems to be trying to place furniture, water pumps etc right up in the air. The only place I could put a water pump was on top of the bushes!

Met any Legendaries yet?
I've met one random one and one named one, both which I did a quick save on as soon as I saw them. Got a unique shotgun off the first which does double damage to robots which is rather cool for sneaking up on the machine gun sentries.
With the random ones they're one-offs so if they kill you they don't reappear on the autosave so make sure you get them!

Have you fought the Deathclaw yet?
That is one hard critter, luckily mine fell down a hole so I just luring him to the entrance, shot him with the railgun until he disappeared back down again and kept repeating it.

I'd already jumped down from the roof chasing raiders when he appeared and didn't realise how hard he was, luckily he backed off and decided to attack some raiders at the end of the street instead before he fell down the hole.

Anybody whether you have to wait for the backwards compatibility on xbox one before you activate the code to get fallout 3?

Nor did mine, had to manually update it and then took about six hours before the games became available to download, it's mainly only the arcade garbage at the moment.

Ran into the first gang of super mutants last night just as I was already dealing with several feral ghouls, all my saved up mini-gun ammo was quickly spent there!
Come across a couple more legendary critters, a nuclear glowing feral ghoul in a trailer and a ruddy hard Bloodbug in a hospital.

I've often wondered this but what advantage is there to downloading games instead of buying the disk, the resale value alone means it makes sense?

In regards to Battlefront then it's available 5 days early through EAaccess to download so getting it early is a plus.
I am probably 50/50 on physical/download copies now. Ones that I know I'll keep and go back to a lot then I'm more likely to download, and there's the occasional fire-sale through the download store where I'll make a purchase.

It's an easy choice for me. No VAT in Jersey so I never buy online. Usually end up saving around £10-15 on each game.

I got Battlefront through EA Access - 10 hours free before it's launched, I've used 2 already. There's actually an achievement for killing 500 enemies during the 10 hour trial!

I've got a disc copy coming next week as I know I'll be playing it for a long time; the only games I download are the occasional Games with Gold game.

Is anyone else finding that scrapping things is just a royal pain in the @rse?

I collect this junk, bring it back to base, chuck it in the workshop but then turning it into raw materials is a total ball-ache. IS there a quick and easy way of doing this?

I didn't even know you had to turn into raw materials, thought it happened automatically?

I'm loving it so far. Played for 15/20 hours, not even gone anywhere near Diamond City yet, just explored as much of everything as I possibly can. I want Dogmeat because it looks cool in the game, but he's useless as a companion compared to a guy with a gun! Wish there was more of a tutorial for the settlement building, just kind of winging it, built a few shacks and done the basics like beds, water and food.

Agreed about the tutorials. I'm a bit of a Fallout veteran so I'm fine with it but a good mate of mine is playing Fallout for the first time with this one and nothing is explained at all when you're starting out.

No but I never want to go there.

I seriously can't stand the Mirelurks, they send shivers down my spine every time I see them. I've only come across Mirelurk hunters a couple of times, and I've literally just run away every time. I'm really bad at getting freaked out by everything in Fallout.
