Keith Lee is the real deal. I wasn't that impressed when I first saw him (while comparing him to the likes of Walter, Cobb...) but he's really grown on me.

Being a heel is the natural fit for his in ring style, if he was about 50lbs heavier he'd be a megastar

Just finished the Golden Lovers/Young Bucks match, one of the most incredible wrestling matches I have ever seen

Working my way through Sakura Genesis, undercard was nothing to write home about but Ospreay/Scurll was tremendous, the best match they've ever had for my money, it's a miracle Ospreay isn't in a wheelchair

I dont like the Spanish Fly. Looks too coordinated between the two wrestlers and seems to be quite dangerous

I think it looks Frak cool but that's just me
Does it make me a bad person that the botch and everything that came from it pushed it from a very good match to a MOTYC?

We're probably not on the best terms anyways, on account of all the buggary
Seriously though, it was a horrific buy and I'm glad Ospreay is ok, but given the story of the match with Osprey's neck and him fighting from underneath it really couldn't have worked out any better and gave the match some real life drama
On the rest of the card, Okada/ZSJr was tremendous and a real departure from other Okada matches, the callback spots to the G1 match with Nakamura was really cool and I was impressed with how quickly the English commentary team was on top of it, those guys are really good, especially coming a week after JR & Barnett
The Golden Lovers/Bullet Club stuff continues to be the best story in wrestling, Cody's face was a spectacle it was almost if he was trying to one up Ospreay, not as good as the Bucks match from Long Beach but it was still really good and Im really into the story which I would never have expected to say about a match involving a Cody/Page tag team a year ago, Cody is the best pure heel in wrestling at the moment nothing redeemable about him bar his lovely face

Dave also gave
Balor/Rollins 4.25 from Raw
Kalisto/Buddy Murphy 4 from 205 live which now means half of Murphy's 205 live career has been 4 star minimum so far

While I don't disagree with that, I'll also add that the grounded characters and selfie promos are far more compelling that any of the gimmicks bestowed upon them before

It's really weird seeing BBC Sport listing "Joe Hendry (Scotland)" as a top home nations contender for the Commonwealth Games Wrestling.
He's in the 97kg group starting tomorrow in the early hours.

Ok it's only to wrestle Shota Umino on a Young Lions show, not based on anything but hopefully it greases the wheels for a more high profile gig, he and Ishii were born to wrestle each other

I’m not hugely au fait with Nakamura’s proper heel run to give any solid recommendations but he was technically a heel in NJPW from 09 onwards, all be it a popular one, I’d recommend his series with Ibushi from the 2013 G1 and Wrestle Kingdom 9, he’s not the maniacal low blowing villain he is now but he’s a proper d*ckhead in both matches which are both tremendous

I wouldn’t say he was full on heel for a long time, but like many characters from NJPW’a top mix, Okada, Naito, Tanahashi, he had an edge and an arrogance that could be amplified as the situation demands it

PWG All Star Weekend Night 1
Rey Horus over Trevor Lee via roll through cradle from the top rope. [11″39]
Taiji Ishimori over Bandido via implant DDT onto his knees. [13’41]
Ring Kampf (Walter & Timothy Thatcher) over Violence Unlimited (Brody King & Tyler Bateman) via rear naked choke on King by Walter. [19’29]
Sammy Guevara over Robbie Eagles and Flash Morgan Webster via Shooting Star Press. [13’11]
Jonah Rock over Joey Janela via frog splash. [11’18]
Keith Lee over Hangman Adam Page in a non-title match. [21’25]
The Rascalz (Dezmond Xavier & Zachary Wentz) over The Chosen Bros (Matt Riddle and Jeff Cobb) and The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson & Nick Jackson) to win the PWG World Tag Team titles. [18’26]
---------
Night 2
Trevor Lee vs. Flash Morgan Webster
Lee with a suplex variation at 10:52. He is such an ideal talent to open shows, Really gets the crowd into it with mic work before the match. Webster is a great babyface to match the heel antics. Really solid match.
Robbie Eagles vs. Joey Janela
Janela with a brainbuster from the top rope at 14:38. Wow. This was really good. One of Janela’s best matches in PWG. Janela landed a tombstone on the floor and a package piledriver that looked brutal. The super brainbuster was crazy. Eagles had a hard time getting over Friday night, but he definitely did tonight.
The Rascalz (Dezmond Xavier & Zachary Wentz) vs. Violence Unlimited (Brody King & Tyler Bateman)
A bit of a mess at the end, but damn good for what it was. Really fun match. Wentz pinned Bateman at 13:21 with the standing moonsault.
Bandido vs. Rey Horus
Wow! Incredible match and worth your while to seek out. They absolutely tore it down with some lucha flavor. Bandido won with a moonsault off the top rope while holding Horus in a body slam position. Finish was at 12:03. Sensational.
Sammy Guevara vs. Taiji Ishimori
Guevara with a shooting star press at 9:07. Ishimori seemed to injure himself early on a springboard and the match never recovered. Weird one.
Afterward, Guevara cuts a promo saying he won’t compete in PWG any longer if he doesn’t get a title shot.
Matthew Riddle vs. Timothy Thatcher
Riddle at 10:50 with the Bromission. Really good while it lasted. Maybe a bit too short, but this has been a well-paced show. No complaints.
Keith Lee vs. WALTER vs. Jonah Rock
WALTER is the new PWG champion! He pins Lee after a massive lariat at 13:32. Great, great hoss match. Rock turned heel part of the way through, landing groin shots on both Lee and WALTER. WALTER set up the finish by coming off the top rope — yes, you read that correctly — for a splash on Lee. Lee did an absolutely ridiculous flipping suicide dive onto Rock and WALTER at one point.
Afterward, Lee cut a promo said he didn’t do what former champion Chuck Taylor had asked about being a better champion than he was. Lee said he hopes WALTER now will be. Lee didn’t explicitly say he was headed to WWE, but there have been implications.
Guevara came back out when Lee was finished and got in WALTER’s face. WALTER responded by landing a massive chop, sending Guevara out of the ring. Fitting end to a fantastic card

Really looking forward to checking out those cards sometime in 2027, I’m enjoying that PWG seem to have made a concerted effort to reduced their match times, I love PWG but we didn’t need to see Brian Kendrick & Tomasso Ciampia going 25 minutes

I think the issue is that On Demand opens the door for piracy.
Agree with House about Keith Lee. The guy is made for Sports Entertainment. And he's a big dude who can fly.

I think there’s a multitude of issues with an ippv model with regards to workers contracts, particularly the ROH and Evolve guys
What bugs me is that the downloads of the shows don’t come out til months after the DVD’s they say it’s to avoid piracy but streams of BOLA were available before the DVD in the UK
I think at the heart of it it’s just that PWG are run by a group of guys who don’t want to give themselves any headaches while the going is good

It would be incredible for Cody and the Bucks to be able to convince Punk to appear - even for an inring segment.

It’s almost not incredible as much as it is. It stands out, but also it’s hugely hyped and wrestlers have more fanbases to push into in a much different way than promoters

Also a huge amount appeared on Stubhub etc shortly after, so false numbers.
What's incredible is that Cody has literally absorbed himself into the hype he generated about himself.
