Next Wednesday (7th Oct), we’re interviewing Manchester United academy coach Tom Statham

Bit of information on Tom

“Tom has been coaching at Manchester United since 1994. He has coached boys from 7-18 years old and has worked with some great coaches such as Sir Alex Ferguson, Brian Kidd, Eric Harrison, Paul McGuiness, Tony Whelan and René Meulensteen.

He embarked on a professional career in soccer playing for Middlesbrough, Doncaster Rovers and Lincoln City. Deciding he may a better coach than a player, he began his teaching and coaching career.

Approached by Manchester United in late 1993, he started coaching young players shortly after and has seen the likes of Jonny Evans, Danny Welbeck, Tom Cleverly, James Wilson, Tyler Blackett, Jesse Lingard, Fraizer Campbell and many others progress to become top professional players.”
