Benteke looks like the worst striker we have had in a long time.... Couldn't hit water if he fell out of a boat!! Missed 6/7 chances by my count with a few of them being absolute sitters..

I just keep hearing "It's (insert name of Liverpool player) to Benteke, he's only the keeper to beat....it's gone for another goal kick!"

Thought we played well last night despite the result. Was fearful of Lucas in central defence but thought he was excellent right up until his final act of the game, giving away a cheap freekick leading to the winner. Shame Coutinho and Sturridge weren't on at the same time but so glad they're back. Would like to see a long run of games with Coutinho, Sturridge, Firmino, Lallana and see if they can all gel. Might make our defensive woes seem less depressing.

Would also like to hear Sturridge scotch the rumours that he's unhappy at the club and wants to leave. Sometimes silence is golden but in matters such as this, it's deafening

Lucas did really well in central defence and I wouldn't actually mind him starting a league game. Says something when I'd feel more comfortable with a Toure/Lucas partnership than any other right now.

Sturridge did look a class above when he came on, slightly rusty, but even then his dribbling and vision were so obviously better than any others we had on the pitch. Don't expect him to start at the weekend, but for the League Cup final I think he should start and then two or three of Coutinho/Firmino and Lallana behind him.

Benteke was short of confidence and it showed, but least he dared to fail. Put himself in and his passing was a mile better than Sturridge, who was terrifying when he dribbled but couldn't pass at all.

With two clear penalties turned down in two games I think with relatively balanced play we deserve it.

Very impressed by Lucas. Obiang and Ogbonna were fantastic for us on a night a lot of players struggled. We're meandering at the moment, badly need Sakho and Lanzini back and seem to be getting a lot of injuries, so this was a nice boost.

Excellent results for the Hammers to beat Blackburn 5 -1 away. Only saw the goals and sendings off. That Payet really is class. Must be one of the signings of the season.

Thought the West Ham sending off was possibly a bit harsh. Not entirely clear what happened - but didn't look like the Blackburn player was in very clear goal scoring position.

There's weaker and there's 5 teenagers with barely a forst team game between them.

Doesn't help the cup.

Another issue is the split in cl games and we can see an example of the effect it has today.
