Re: WWE Raw Results - Spoilers Ahead

Post by owen10ozzy on Tue 27 Oct 2015, 11:21 am

Fully enjoyed that episode overall....the Paige split has come and I am looking forward to some very good matches between herself & Becky with the ultimate title showdown with Charlotte. Between Paige, Charlotte, Sasha, Becky & a returning Natalya the Divas revolution should quickly become an evolution which is well worth a watch.

Given that they had all the singles matches you'd have to look at it as a holding over week for most; quite where some of them are going to go feud wise I'm unsure. It would seem we could be heading for Ziggler vs Breeze which I'm very 'meh' on. Too similar in style and whilst I am looking forward to seeing Tyler & how he progresses on the main show I do worry that 12 months down the line we may have another Dolph on our hands...i.e. reliable performer but one they never completely pull the trigger on.

Talking about pulling the trigger, Kevin Owens is too good for that intercontinetal title. I was praying he would win the #1 contenders match...but truth be told it was always a miracle & nothing less had it happened. You have to credit WWE with perserverence they are showing when it comes to Reigns...they are insistent on him becoming the man, that is clear to see & they have finally found a window where they can do it & he not feel the wrath of the fans. I feel for Rollins as he has been booked pretty shoddly truth be told (and he has made that appear better than it actual is..credit to him) & in some ways I feel they have done it to make his reign less appealing for when they do finally put the belt on Reigns.

I do think they will have a few good matches & Reigns has grown on me lately, his Wyatt match at HIAC was brilliant. Yet the issue is, he really is a Cena 2.0 when it comes to move set in the sense of he gets beat down a fair bit...hits 3/4 same moves then the superman punch into the spear...just doesn't seem to have the versatility when in the ring that the likes of Cesaro, Owens etc show...and to boot he doesn't have the mic ability that Cena has. I actually do like him the problem is that WWE at some point will have someone go over Brock and for all the world it seems like they are intent on it being Reigns & I just don't buy into that.

That brings us on to Brock's opponent at HIAC, Taker. Clearly we are now set for a Brothers vs Family feud and this really does intrigue me. I'm looking forward to watching this unfold...who will fight alongside Kane/Taker...will it be 4vs4 or 5vs5..and just how will it end? Is this the chance to give Wyatt that big defining win that he has been searching for? (Would be a good reward for all the feud loses he has taken over the past 12 months) Whilst I am intrigued by where this heads...I felt underwhelmed by the promo from Bray last night, I hold the blame there however with WWE for pulling the trigger on a Bray/Taker feud at Mania!

Lots of stories developing and plenty of good possibilities and story arches moving forward...with the added bonus of some potentially very good 'wrestling' matches...lets cross our fingers that WWE don't drop the ball as they are prone to doing.

---------------------------------

this whole " he has 5 moves" is a weak argument.

Bret Hart was exactly the same.
you could guarantee every match would finish the same:-

suplex
backbreaker
elbow off the second rope
sharpshooter.

HHH

spinebuster
face plant to the knee
running knee
pedigree

Flair
chops
figure 4

the majority of wrestlers only do a handful of moves because they want to keep their moves seperate from everyone elses and Reigns is no different to anyone else.

you may get the odd couple, but thats the exception rather than the rule.

Reigns has improved massively over the last few months both inside the rring and outside.

Reigns also has a lot more than 4 moves even in his standard Raw matches. He uses as many on a regular basis as everyone except Cesaro, who seems to do what he wants before losing.

That was a really good Raw that worked from beginning to end. Slightly worried that they've blown their good 3 hours in the build up to SS.

Everything worked. Maybe they have hit a bit of a reset because there was younger talent putting on longer matches and given emphasis on the mic.

The crowd helped, although the stupidity of the modern crowd is that they will cheer anything when asked so actually cheered the Authority at the beginning. Not helped my Stephanie and HHH being as disturbingly obtuse in their role as ever and just sickening people to watch in general.

Bloody good RAW, bloody bloody good. The 5 matches with title implications were all excellent, especially Owens vs Cesaro - Cesaro is just insane. ADR seems to have a new lease of life and looked a lot more intense than he did before. Rollins did a great job putting over the title and the four way match. Its scary how much Reigns has improved even just over the last month.

Wyatt delivered an excellent promo, and the attack on Kane is starting to set up the SS match, I still dont know who their partners will be, but Im looking forward to finding out.

Cant wait to see Paige vs Becky Lynch and Charlotte.

Just as I was thinking about a break - they pull a RAW like this out of the bag. Im with Dolphin, I hope they havent just blown their load and we have 3 weeks of misery before Survivor Series.

I thought Raw was surprisingly brilliant.

Matches were all very good, storyline telling was there. The challenge is to keep it going.

Kane the next victim then. What's going to happen next? All very interesting.

I wouldn't worry too much about WWE giving too much away on that episode of RAW, maybe the next few RAW's wont be as entertaining but I think they had to do what they had to do on Monday for storyline progression, they had to get a number one contender and they had to have Kane come out to confront the Wyatt's...if they're going to build to a Survivor Series match with Taker (and a team) vs The Wyatt's then they had to continue the build...the one thing they could have hung fire on was the fully blown Paige turn, I'd have kept that for Survivor Series but on the whole I don't think whether she turned or not would effect the show as a whole.

I smell an Ambrose heel turn on Reigns, all the motivation schtick he's doing for Reigns doesn't feel like something Ambrose would do so its been added for some reason, the only one I can think of is so he can go fully blown heel on him and it further allows the WWE to use the sympathy card for Roman Reigns, at this point I'm not sure Seth will drop the belt anytime soon, I think HHH will have one eye on Punk's record reign and see Seth is about half way there and they might just run with it until he breaks it.
