Fastlane pre-show:

- Kalisto def. Alberto Del Rio: After brawling both inside and outside the ring, Kalisto jumps off the fan barrier at ringside towards Del Rio. Del Rio smacks Kalisto out of the air with a steel chair, which secures the first fall of the 2-out-of-3 falls match for Kalisto via DQ

Back in the ring, Del Rio works quickly and hits a stomp on Kalisto for the 1-2-3 and his first fall of the match.

Del Rio keeps control and takes Kalisto to the corner trying to remove his mask. Del Rio takes Kalisto to the outside and hits some offense before rolling back into the ring and leaving him out there. Kalisto gets back in the ring at the referee's 9-count, and Del Rio once again turns Kalisto upside down in the Tree of Woe. Del Rio misses the stomp, and Kalisto drops Del Rio into the turnbuckle and rolls him up for the win.

Winner & still United States Champion: Kalisto

WWE Fastlane 2016:

- Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch def. Tamina Snuka and Naomi: WWE's second annual Fastlane broadcast will start with Divas tag team action. The match starts and Becky and Sasha are already arguing with each other. The eventually start working together and hit a double dropkick on Tamina. Naomi gets the tag and hits a series of kicks on Becky. Becky comes back with a suplex that sends Tamina to the outside, and all four women start fighting at ringside. Back in the ring, Becky lays out both Tamina and Naomi with a missile dropkick off the top. Tamina misses a clothesline and Sasha drops her into the Banks Statement. Naomi runs in but Becky stops her and applies the Disarm Her at the same time. Both members of Team BAD tap out.

Winners: Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch

- Kevin Owens def. Dolph Ziggler: They lock up and Owens takes control with a quick headbutt that drops Ziggler. Owens misses a splash in the corner and Ziggler mounts a comeback with two big splashes of his own. Ziggler with rights hands, elbows and a neckbreaker for a close 2 count. Ziggler goes up top but Owens drops him on his crotch and his a cannonball for a close 2 count. Winner & still Intercontinental Champion: Kevin Owens

- The Big Show and Ryback are in the back talking about the Wyatt Family. They are eventually joined by Kane, who says they will send the Wyatts "straight back to hell." A video package airs showing the history between The Wyatts, Big Show, Kane and Ryback.

- Kane, The Big Show & Ryback vs. Erick Rowan, Luke Harper and Braun Strowman: Ryback and Rowan are in first, with Ryback getting the majority of the offense and hitting a dropkick for a 1-count. He tags in The Big Show, who starts laying into Rowan with chops in the corner. Ryback tags back in but eats an elbow from Rowan before Braun gets the tag. Braun takes control of the match with elbows and slams until Rowan gets tagged back in. Rowan attempts a suplex on Ryback, but Ryback blocks and hits one of his own. Kane gets the tag and lays out Rowan with a DDT and a dropkick for a 2 count. They brawl on the outside in front of Bray, who is sitting in a chair in front of the announcers' table. Back in the ring, Harper and Ryback get the tags. Ryback hits several flying knees to the face on Harper in the corner. Ryback hits a few running powerslams and goes for the pin, but Rowan breaks it up. Kane comes in and chokeslams Rowan. Harper runs in, but Show gorilla press slams Harper to the outside and on to his teammates. Show goes to ringside and spears Braun.

Bray runs in on Ryback, but Kane lays him out. Ryback hits the Shellshocked on a distracted Harper for the win.

Winners: Ryback, Big Show and Kane

- Brie Bella vs. Charlotte: Ric Flair is out with Charlotte. The two competitors go back and forth in the opening moments until Brie lays Charlotte out and imitates her father's strut and "Wooo!" Charlotte comes back and throws Brie to the outside, then mocks Daniel Bryan's "Yes!" motions before saying "where's your sister now?" Back in the ring, Charlotte goes for an Alabama Slam but Brie reverses into a sunset flip for a 2 count. They trade submission holds for several minutes. Charlotte misses a big boot and Brie comes back with some strikes for a 2 count. Brie hits a dropkick off the top rope and starts selling a leg injury. She hits multiple kicks on Charlotte then an X-Factor for another 2 count. Charlotte comes back and goes for the Figure 4, Brie gets out and eventually locks her in a single leg Boston Crab. Charlotte gets out and locks Brie in the Figure 8 for the victory.

Winner: Charlotte

- We see a video package about AJ Styles' WWE debut, including clips from him in WCW. Backstage, Chris Jericho talks about his two previous matches with AJ Styles.

- AJ Styles vs. Chris Jericho: They trade holds early on until Jericho rolls to the outside to avoid the Calf Crusher. The crowd is dueling "AJ Styles" and "Y2J" chants. Back in the ring, Styles reverses an attempted Walls of Jericho with a hurricanrana. AJ follows up with a knee drop for a 2 count. Jericho goes up top and comes off with a punch to the face of AJ. AJ gets up and answers with a dropkick. AJ takes control of the match until Jericho sends him to the outside after a back body drop and a clothesline. Jericho throws him into the fan barrier then takes things back in the ring for a cross body block off the top for a 2 count. Jericho misses a splash in the corner and falls to the outside. Styles attempts a dive over the top to the outside, but Jericho catches him with a kick. Jericho hits a splash over the top on Styles for 2. Styles comes back with clotheslines and a forearm strike. Styles hits his patented springboard moonsault-into-a DDT, although they didn't quite execute it perfectly. Styles misses a dropkick and Jericho hits the Lionsault for a 2 count. Jericho goes for a superplex but AJ gets out. He goes to the apron to springboard off the top rope, but Jericho catches him in mid-air with a springboard dropkick. Styles sits Jericho on the turnbuckle. Jericho slaps him in the face, and AJ answers with a Pele kick. He goes for a hurricanrana off the top but Jericho reverses into a powerbomb and a Walls of Jericho. Styles reaches the ropes, so Jericho throws him to the outside. He locks the Lion Tamer in on AJ at ringside, then rolls back into the ring. Styles climbs back in and walks right into a Codebreaker, but reaches the ropes to break the pin. Jericho wastes some time and calls Styles a "stupid son a bitch," which receives some censorship on the WWE Network broadcast. Styles comes back and hits the Styles Clash but Jericho kicks out. Styles locks Jericho in the Calf Crusher and Jericho taps out.

Winner: AJ Styles

AJ is celebrating his victory in the ring and is confronted by Chris Jericho. They end up shaking hands and Jericho walks to the back while Styles' music plays.

Edge and Christian are out to the ring next to interview The New Day. The New Day comes out and mix it up with E & C before they start cutting a promo on The League of Nations. This brings out Sheamus, Rusev, Del Rio and Barrett. The New Day heads to the back and the League starts talking trash to Edge and Christian. E & C tell them the ring is all theirs and they head to the back. They dance with The New Day on the ramp and tell people to watch their show after Fastlane on the WWE Network.

R-Truth vs. Curtis Axel: They trade offense until the other Social Outcast members get involved and give Axel the advantage. Goldust slowly walks down to the ring and trips Curtis Axel when both the referee and R-Truth are distracted. Goldust lays out members of the Outcasts at ringside. Goldust throws Adam Rose in the ring which distracts Truth and allows Axel to roll him up for the quick win.

Winner: Curtis Axel

Goldust apologizes to Truth in the ring after the match and Truth walks to the back, leaving Goldust alone in the ring.

- Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns vs. Dean Ambrose: As soon as the bell rings, Lesnar beats down on Ambrose in the corner until Ambrose climbs out of the ring. He hits Reigns with two German suplexes, and lays out Dean Ambrose with a clothesline. Ambrose hits a missile dropkick off the top to the back of Lesnar when Lesnar is preoccupied with Reigns. Ambrose attempts a German suplex of the his own on Lesnar but it doesn't work, and Lesnar tosses him with a belly to belly suplex. Reigns pulls Lesnar to the outside. Ambrose attempts a suicide dive on Lesnar, but Brock catches him with a belly-to-belly on the ringside floor. Back in the ring, he continues the trip to Suplex City on Reigns.

Lesnar hits an F-5 on Reigns, but Ambrose breaks up the pin. Ambrose slaps Lesnar in the face, which earns him some knees to the face and several German suplexes from the former UFC Heavyweight Champ. He goes for an F-5 on Ambrose, but Reigns hits Lesnar with a spear for a 2 count. He hits the Superman punch on Lesnar, and Lesnar rolls to the outside. Lesnar goes to F-5 Reigns through an announce table, but Ambrose makes the save with a legal low blow. They remove the monitors from the Spanish announce table and powerbomb Lesnar through it. Ambrose lays out Reigns and throws him in the ring.

Ambrose hits a bulldog and flying clothesline on Reigns for a 2 count. Ambrose and Reigns brawl in the ring until they notice Brock Lensar getting up and decide to double-team him. Ambrose starts stripping the English announce table and they powerbomb him through that one too. They bury Lesnar in broken table parts, then go back to fighting each other. Reigns hits the Superman punch on Ambrose but misses the spear. Ambrose hits the Dirty Deeds for 2. Reigns lifts Ambrose up on to his shoulders, then out of nowhere Brock Lesnar runs in and hits a German suplex on Reigns while Ambrose is still on his shoulders, which sends both men flying. Reigns comes back with a spear on Lesnar, but Lesnar quickly puts Reigns in a Kimura lock. Ambrose brings in a steel chair and starts pummeling Lesnar with it, then gives Reigns a few chair shots for good measure. Lesnar rolls out of the ring, and Reigns hits a spear on Dean Ambrose for the 1-2-3.

Winner: Roman Reigns

Reigns & HHH have a staredown afterwards looking at the sign with Title raised.

I can't believe the amount of vitriol Reigns gets. There's masses of people out there that need to grow up with regards him.

Is he that bad? Is him being the choice to main event mania really that bad?
When he was in the shield everyone loved him but now he's had a push as 'the chosen one' everyone despises him. Don't get it at all.

Suspect it would be a Shield triple threat if Rollins was healthy.

Doesn't really shape up as a classic WM, but not sure WWE have had many alternatives given the injury list

He isn't that bad no, the backlash though is the fact that he's being forcefed upon the public, WWE have over the years allowed the fans to interact more and more with the shows, it backfired with the What chant and its backfired since the Daniel Bryan storyline as the crowd think they have far more power than they have and if they don't like who's being pushed then they'll most certainly let their voices be heard now.

Having watched it this morning, the main event was really good. However, the ending had reigns kick out of a dirty deeds and get battered with chair shots to instantly get up and hit a spear for the win.

I can see why people get peeved. Why didn't am rose get a bit more protected for the finish. At least have him kick out before taking the pin.

I watched it this morning as well and thought it was a decent main event, but the fact that the chair shots basically did nothing at all really didn't do him any favors and added weight to him being Cena's successor for failing to sell.
I'm surein kayfabe they'll use the protective body armor as reasoning (well if they have any sense they will), but being as the Authority decide the rules then why do they allow him to wear it?

WWE really do need to understand their audience, they've been so desperate to force Roman on the public that they've alienated him into a hate figure instead of letting him gain crowd favour and let it feel like a natural push.

Added to that though, whoever WWE chooses to push gets a negative reaction purely based on that WWE chose to push them. They cant really win in that sense.

Reigns is no different to

Hogan
Warrior
Bret Hart
Michaels
Austin
The Rock
Cena

all of these people were picked by the managers and forced down peoples throats.

Hogan would take a beating, kick out and get amazing powers of recovery

Warrior would take a beating, shake some ropes and summon the power of the warriors above.

Michaels and Bret Hart were often given the underdog role

Austin and the rock were forced down peoples throats by being on Raw every week and making multiple appearances throughout the show,

Cena, another with superhuman comeback ability.

Reigns is no different to any of those, so why the grief who knows.

For me its people not having the ability to make their own minds up.

before Bryan returned at the Rumble last year Reigns was over & getting pops every week.
because Bryan didnt win, Reigns got shat on at the Rumble and people who are like sheep and cant think for themselves jumped on the bandwagon and started to boo him aswell.

Reigns deserves to be a mainevent guy, he has improved massively over the last year.

people Jizz in their pants over Lesnar, who hits half a dozen suplexs and an F5, and thats pretty much it.

Different eras, different rules.
Kayfabe truely existed then, good guys were cheered, bad guys were booed, people played along with the pantomine because they didn't know what happened behind the curtain.
Now with social media such as Twitter, Facebook and Reddit people collectively voice their opinions whilst gaining more of an insight into the business than ever before. They realize as a collective they can make changes. Every time WWE gives into the fans then it's another squeeze of the toothpaste that can't be pushed back in. They're now trying to play by their old rules but those rules were rewritten many years ago, it's like trying to enforce Apple's closed operating system on a group of Android users, people will no longer accept being told who to cheer and whilst there is some truth in people being influenced by the stronger, more vocal crowd members I would suggest that the sheep members are just as much those that continue to go along with whom WWE state you must cheer for.

Hogan and Warrior eventually faced the hate that Cena and Roman faced, until WCW turned Hogan heel. And the rest is history.

I dont recall Bret or HBK being forced onto the fans as babyfaces nearly as much as Reigns has been, and they both got themselves over as heels before turning face organically.

Austin was pushed hard and protected, but he was always over because of the 'Blue collar guy' against his Boss. They cant replicate that with Reigns because its harder to identify with him - Ambrose would be the better choice for that role.

They tried to force the Rock as a babyface but the crowd overwhelmingly rejected him, so they turned him heel and he went on to be one of the biggest superstars of all time.

Reigns winning is pretty much worst case scenario for WrestleMania. They've got some serious booking to do in a short time to make the crowd accept this main event. It actually pains me that Ambrose was the best choice to win. Not only do Reigns fans like him, but the smarks like us like Ambrose and everyone would get behind him vs the Authority.

The whole thing just leaves a sour taste in my mouth. Despite some questionable booking it was a fairly decent PPV, but I cant bring myself to be positive about the product right now. I cant wait to see The Authority collectively win the Vincent J McMahon award of excellence tonight on RAW, hold me back.

I'd have preferred Ambrose win but I don't think he's ready to carry a Wrestlemania whereas Reigns is. Just not against HHH. The match doesn't sound right to me.

Im not even a big fan of Reigns just done see how he warrants the abuse he gets. Every single thing he does gets turned on him as if it's another reason to hate him and people actually seem to hate the guy. It's extremely sad. He's just a wrestler.

He's come on leaps and bounds in the ring and on the mic this past year but has been give 0 credit for it. Have to think that WWE are fully aware of what the fans perceive to be his failings and aren't turning him heel because he must have massive shirt sales.
I've never heard a wrestler get this badly abused before and there may be no coming back from it.

Enjoyable PPV all told

It went under the radar slightly but it's to WWEs credit tonight they presented 2 Diva's matches on the main PPV tonight both of which I was interested in going in and at least 1 delivered from an in ring perspective

The Titans v Wyatts match massively over delivered not only was it watchable it was actually quite good, on the flip side AJ/Jericho took forever to get going and by the time that it did it was too little too late, I didn't help the finish was clunky as hell, it wasn't bad but very disappointing given that AJ has been one of the best in the world for the past few years and whatever my opinions on Jericho he normally has better matches with guys of AJs calibre, I did pop for the Clash kick out though, IIRC Jericho is the first man to kick out of a full power Styles Clash in nearly 2 years, there's probably a lesson in that about how NJPW protect their finishers and WWE don't but I'll enjoy the moment for what it was

Thought the main event was great though, up there with Strong/Ishii for best match of the weekend, with no sign of the Wyatts I hope they've reversed course on Lesnar's programme and we get him v Ambrose at mania as those guys have outstanding chemistry and have really carried Raw the past few weeks

My 2p on the Reigns thing,  I like him as a wrestler, I actually think he's pretty damn good in the right situation, and I think a lot of the Poopie he gets is harsh, but the simple reality is the guy really isn't that over, people make comparisons to Cena but the hate for him is balanced with a vocal support that creates an electric atmosphere, Reigns is being groomed to be a megastar and if you take out the boos when has the guy ever received a consistent reaction that rivals that of Hogan/Austin/Rock/Cena et al, this might seem like a high bar to set a guy to but that's the bar WWE are pushing him to hit, even without the hate Reigns rarely if ever blows the roof off a building, TV ratings and house show numbers are down, I don't know how his merch moves but his stuff doesn't catch your eye in the crowd so I wouldn't say it's overwhelming, again I want to reiterate I like Reigns and I'll be quite happy to watch him as champion, but it often boggles my mind that we just witnessed a guy in Daniel Bryan retire who had to scratch and claw with his genuine connection with the crowd to finally get his due and even in the latter days of his run with the company you could see WWE still didn't heart set on him (I give you the Kane/Brie in the carpark angle) but they seem determined that Reigns will be the guy, getting over seems to garuntee you nothing in WWE best case scenario it won't be seen as a punishable offence and you won't be actively buried until the crowds enthusiasm is squashed, you have to be the chosen one, someone WWE will actively book matches, Angles and storylines around in order to maximise the positive reactions and minimise the backlash, it's kind of silly if you think about, again this isn't a slight on Roman but imagine if WWE had be as deadset on making a star out of Bryan or Punk or Ziggler when they began to get big organic pops, maybe it's true modern cynical fans would get bored of their shiney new toy and kick out when it became 'too corporate' or maybe WWE could synergise with what fans want and they could create the game changing star they've been missing since the 90s

A classic WWE PPV, great matches, however storyline telling shocking and predictable.

Reigns vs HHH bores the hell out of me.

Ambrose vs Lesnar however, that should be a classic.

Good PPV, some really interesting matches and good storytelling throughout in my opinion.

Enjoying the criticism of Reigns taking chair shots in the back and should be dead. Its just so classic and salty. Ambrose has been thrown into the mix last minute with no enticing story, not actually delivered that well on the mic, but he doesnt have to, people assume he will and assume he does. He has been overshadowed in every feud hes had so far, and whilst he is brilliant and he is a good ring general, he needs the build to a Lesnar match rather than a title run. Its a reward for being enticing and having a personality the fans like whilst still grooming him into a main event spot, a cemented one.

Maybe the smartest thing WWE did was put New Day against LoN. Puts them in a face role without having to do a face turn, should be a good feud with some good workers too. And everyone will love New Day ripping them apart on the mic.

Now the only worry is: What now for Wyatt? (PS, that match delivered so much more than I expected and loved Ryback throughout)

Last night Reigns and Ambrose between them put Lesnar through two announce tables as well as chair shots and a spear, and he wasn't involved in the finish. Realistically what more do you want?

Agreed, knowing Ambrose is willing & waiting to get his ass kicked by Lesnar is compelling viewing.

Not sure if HHH vs. Reigns will headline Mania. A fatal four way is more likely. Roman just isn't a big enough draw- he's a B+ player.

Reigns is different to every one of those you mention - he's not bloody over!!!! People need to stop blaming the ('cynical' 'smart') fans for the debacle that is Roman Reigns!  But more on him in a bit... to the others you so ignorantly compared him to...

Hulk Hogan was an absolute master at telling his story in the ring. He told it over and over again until the fans eventually got bored, and then some more. He had great charisma, could hold the stick and had a perfect look for his role. Warrior had an enigmatic charisma and an energetic presence that fans craved following Hogan - he was then let down by the booking, and his ego. Austin was lightening in a bottle, but was a great talker and played his character to a tee. The Rock had unmatched charisma, was funny as hell and could sell like a champ for anyone, in any circumstance - heel or face. Lesnar is over because he's an absolute freak of nature and a badass to boot. The suplexes and F5s are only 2 parts of his character the fans PAY to see.  And on and on I could go in the same vein about those others. They all had several characteristics that made them stand out - and even then Bret and Shawn were reluctantly pushed into the top.

Reigns has a great look, but other than that, nothing really stands out. He delivers poor promos, with poor material. He is not funny, is not great in the ring (passable to good), and hasn't a clue how to tell a story (wtf was he doing getting off that stretcher at the Rumble? - he's trying to get over as a face, not a shortcut seeking heel for heavens sake). Oh yeah, he was not getting pops 'every week' before Bryan returned at the 2015 Rumble. He was booed outta the place when he returned pre-xmas 2014. Pushing Reigns last year was the equivalent to pushing the Big Bossman in 1990 or Ken Shamrock in 1997. People like him, cheer for some of his moves, but that's about all they want of him, certainly for now.

I don't care if this isn't the real him or poor booking or senile Vince - if he was smart enough he'd be vetoing most of this crap because it's doing his career untold damage. He has plenty of leverage, as WWE seem intent on pushing no one else and have all their eggs in his basket. My guess is, he just isn't that smart. His reactions to getting booed on TV and in interviews hint at that.

And what's with this sheep garbage? Are you suggesting everyone should just cheer for anyone the WWE shove down their throats regardless? Isn't that the very definition of a 'sheep' in the context you mean? Shouldn't we assess the the character first and then decide whether we want to cheer them or not? Like we did with all of those you mentioned? And anyone who mentions Cena being the same - he's not. Cena appeals to a certain audience for the same reason the other half hate him. Most people are just meh towards Roman Reigns, which has now turned to hate because of his out of proportion push.

I know people get a great kick out of going against the grain these days - especially on internet forums you can get all the attention without the need to identify yourself if it all goes pear-shaped but honestly some things are as simple and explainable as they look.
