Re: Dark Souls 3
I downloaded it earlier on. Took nearly 4 hours. Currently stuck on the second boss but I'm loving the graphics and gameplay so far.

Had a quick go on it last night. Created a suitably awful looking character and I beat the first boss and also beat that crystal lizard thing.
I got to the shrine place and left it there.
Can't wait to get back on it tonight. Loving it so far.

How far have you got? I'm currently in the Road of Sacrifices.

I've discovered a few bonfires, I'm up to the second boss but I haven't engaged it yet. Trying to explore and get all of the items.
Finding it extremely difficult not to get hit.

That's about as good a synopsis of the Souls games that I have seen

The day one patch has made it slightly harder. All these youtubers playing the game on the Japanese release on 24th March were playing an easier version.
Have you got the Uchigitana yet?

It's a really good katana yiu get from firelink shrine. If you kill the NPC who has it he helps you later on as a summon for the second boss fight.

Oh, I do have that weapon. Used exactly the same tactic as him too!
Just haven't used it yet.

Yeah you need at least 16 dexterity to use it. I've upgraded it to +2 and it's slicing enemies like cake so far.

Re: Dark Souls 3
Anyone had any progress on this? I've defeated three bosses and unlocked a ton of secrets, I think. Just finished at the undead village and I'm in a forest at the moment.
Third boss was bloody fantastic.

Yeah I think I'm way ahead of you
The tree boss was hilarious. You can't stop laughing seeing a massive tree doing rolly polllys.

I've been playing it very slowly, exploring every nook and cranny I can. There's so much hidden in that undead village and some really tough enemies to boot!
Even the trash on this game can be so challenging!

It's good your taking your time. One of the best things about this series is the exploration.

Re: Dark Souls 3
Yeah that seems about right. The main thing to do is make sure you upgrade your weapon. And level up your health. It will help loads.

Heh, I've played these before so I know the drill ;-)
I've been exploring the road after the village, those giant crabs are ridiculous. No idea of how to beat them!

I ignore the crabs. Way too much health they have.

Re: Dark Souls 3
I went with warrior. Knight seems to be the best class for those starting out.
Great thing about it is that you're not bound to one class for the whole game, you can alter your build as you level up.

Re: Dark Souls 3
I did play Bloodbourne but I thought I'd keep it safe and stick with the knight after reading the reviews on classes.
Thats great, hopefully after picking up some experience I'll edit my character suiting my style of play.

Re: Dark Souls 3
While there are obvious similarities, Bloodborne was a different beast in terms of combat. You could afford to be a lot more aggressive in Bloodborne, particularly because you could regain health by hitting an enemy immediately after being hit yourself.
I finished Bloodborne last Monday and started DS3 on the Tuesday. Needless to say my over-aggression has killed me a few times!
