Was going to wait a couple of weeks but it's already kicking off today...

Bayern Munich have nabbed what was regarded as one of Man Utd's main transfer targets and signed the 18 year old wonderkid Renato Sanches from Benfica for £28m.

I'm 100% not down on Benteke, think he could be amazing and would suit us perfectly. A bit worried about the price tag.

Bacca is another level, and if we can get him and Calleri then it would be amazing. Id still be happy with Benteke, Ben Yedder, Berahino.

Benteke is a bit of a richer mans Carroll, and not sure Carroll really fit with the players behind him last season.

Carroll is interesting because he'll score a decent amount of goals were he to be fully fit, but he isnt as effective 100% of a game as a faster striker.

Jack Sullivan has said that we want types of strikers, so as such we're not massively interested in Gomez at the moment cos we have a target man. Which suggests Benteke would be of less interest as he has much of that mould to him, although he has always been able to run in behind and Carroll is slow to get going so cant be that man.

Having seen both Benteke and Carroll play for Liverpool, I'd probably take Carroll (if injuries weren't a problem). Benteke scored a fantastic goal against Manchester United, but that was about it. For me, he didn't make anywhere near enough effort, which Carroll never lacked. Benteke seemed allergic to actually getting into the box as well, always wanted to start deep and be part of the build up which would be okay if he was actually any good at doing that.

I think he'd do alright at West Ham, but not sure he's even that big of an improvement on Carroll other than he's not injury prone.

Looks like City have put in an offer on the latest Brazilian wonderkid Gabriel Jesus of €32m, Utd, Real and Barca also rumoured to be putting in offers.

Seems like we're favourites - but we've been linked to him for what seems like the past 10 Windows and it's never come off - so always slightly skeptical

Not sure you can use Liverpool's Benteke as the fair judge. If we got Villa's version of Benteke I think he'd get us close to 20 goals.

McCormack could well be the difference in a Norwich or Villa chasing Newcastle or scraping for playoffs.

McCormack is signing for Norwich. Nott'm Forest are signing Stephen Henderson from Charlton, should be completed soon.

Some very shrewd business being done under the radar by City. Building a side for the next few years & poaching the future stars from South America, in particular. From what I've seen, Gabriel Jesus looks the best of the bunch, but Marlos Moreno & Zinchenko are also fantastic prospects, who have signed already.

They haven't bid as of yet. Probably a case of this being deja vu, in terms of his spell at Spurs. Once surrounded by quality players, his influence diminishes. Everton should probably look at Mata again.

Surely means Turan won't be able to stick around much longer. If he's cheap, wouldn't be a bad signing for pretty much any Premier League side.

Exactly.
Think some people are forgetting the Villa Benteke. Was a great player.

Also, wouldnt be surprised if Newcastle dont win the championship.

£20m is the asking price, so not that cheap for a 29 year old. Had a poor Euro's looked out of shape & booed by his own fans, can't see any PL touching him.

Moussa is only 26, prices are related to that & he just had a storming euro's. Also, he's an existing English based player, so prices are naturally inflated. £20m isn't really a bargain, for a 30 year old, who hasn't done anything in the game for well over a year.

Price was £20 million before they signed Andre Gomes, which did seem to come out of nowhere, imagine they'll want him off, can't see any space for him in the squad and his wages will be high, which will probably lower the price.

Although he can play behind the striker, doesn't Turan usually play on the wing these days? I'm sure Andre Gomes is mainly an attacking midfielder isn't he?

He's generally been playing in the midfield three, either for Iniesta or Rakitic. Andre Gomes will likely that spot. They have also re-signed Denis Suarez who is another similar player. So really don't think there is room for Turan at this point.

Glad Real didn't sign Gomes. He wouldn't have improved our starting 11 and Valencia were asking too much for him. They supposedly wanted cash + Nacho, Kovacic and Jese Rodriguez for Gomes.

although when you can ship ibe for 15 mil, 25 mil for wijnaldum doesn't seem too bad

they have had a weakness in that position despite the number of players who can play there. ozil and sanchez have been great but then on the right its been walcott, campbell and ox all of whom have been disappointing . would presume he'd fit in there. but its hardly the position they need strengthening most

Whilst he's a good player, it just seems so Arsenal to get him whilst not signing a striker. I think they could probably get Icardi for a little bit more, Lacazette for less and could have been properly in for Higuain before Juve made a move.

If they have Mahrez, Ozil and Sanchez, do they play Xhaka and Ramsey? I presume Xhaka is first choice, but they looked lost without Cazorla at times last season. Ramsey and Wilshere should both be worried about getting starting berths.

Everton have agreed a €30m fee with Zenit St Petersburg for midfielder Axel Witsel. Hopefully we can start to really improve our central two in midfield, I've had enough of James McCarthy & Barry is no spring chicken.

How do you think they compare to midfields around their level? Is this better than West Brom's midfield if you add Witsel?
