The Scotland and England games got equal billing.

To be fair, Italy beating England would be more of a headline than if they'd beaten Scotland, Ireland or Wales.... especially at junior level....

So the Headline story both ways?
I'm comfortable with that.
Take it easy Jimp, I'm only adding some lip service to the mischief mood.

Ach us Scots like to have a whinge about the BBC - it is bad enough that BBC Scotland gives more billing to 3rd division football matches than Edinburgh or Glasgow games never mind us finally having a newsworthy story at juniour level!

This might und a bit naïve, but does BBC Scotland have different home pages to BBC England -because I logged in at 0715 this morning, and the England/Bodyline story was the top rugby story?

Has anyone got any tips on how to get tickets for the U20 games at the Manchester City Academy Stadium on Saturday 11 June?
Ticketmaster is advertising them, but the web site doesn't work, even when you register with them..... A colleague has rung Ticketmaster, and they think it's only on there for advertising purposes....... And the man City Stadium advised to contact Ticketmaster!! HELP??? (would be gratefully appreciated).

Judging by attendances I saw on TV yesterday, you should just be able to turn up and buy one!

Bought mine on ticketmaster via the U20's website a couple of weeks ago. Wish I had more time/sons were more interested/wife hadn't booked us for the dentists when Ireland play NZ - as the tickets are very cheap. But I will be there for Scotland/England

Started at
http://www.worldrugby.org/u20/tournament-info/ticketing
The link on the page takes you through to
http://www.ticketmaster.co.uk/u20champs
The price you pay for a single ticket covers all games at that stadium for the day.
Good luck

Thank you. Still no joy with ticket master, so I'll ring the stadium later. Could be that it's sold out, but looking at yesterday's coverage, I'd be surprised.

Jason Strange alluding to Ireland's good recycling game: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/rugby-union/36478753 - I agree with that. It's certainly something that transfers across to Ireland's provincial teams and national team.

England Under-20s: Max Malins (Saracens), George Perkins (Saracens), Charlie Thacker (Leicester Tigers), George Worth (Leicester Tigers), Ollie Thorley (Gloucester Rugby), Mathew Protheroe (Gloucester Rugby), Max Green (Yorkshire Carnegie); Callum Chick (Newcastle Falcons - captain), Sam Smith (Worcester Warriors), George Nott (Sale Sharks), Andrew Kitchener (Worcester Warriors), Huw Taylor (Worcester Warriors), Will Stuart (Wasps), Jack Singleton (Worcester Warriors), Lewis Boyce (Yorkshire Carnegie)
That was the side that lost to Wales in the 6N
Compared to those, I'd say the following are a big step up in quality
Marchant
Williams
Mallinder (although not seen him play much 10, he's very talented)
Jack Walker
Evans

McPhillips? Johnston was a big upgrade on McPhillips. He made a few mistakes but was left on the 80 min, his first 80 min since december.

Captain Walker in at hooker (he's just agreed a move to Bath and is likely to be their first choice by the end of next season) and Evans in at openside who ended the season ahead of Croft in the pecking order and on the bench for Tigers play off semi final (at only 19 Eddie Jones has already requested recordings of his training sessions).
That's a couple of good additions to the lack and in the backs its all change particularly with the removal of the flaky Protheroe who lacked any physicality and replaced by one of two AP experienced options. The centres that have come in are AP experienced as well. Much stronger team for this tournament.

Scotland make 8 changes from the Australia game, suggesting they're targeting the Italy game which is fair enough.
Still a decent squad but I suspect England will just have too much.

Maybe there was no space down his channel to run at.
I disagree about him not being crestive. Ireland got a lot of possession from his kicking and his passing was good.

If as you say then very poor. Scotland U20 had a realistic chance of topping this pool. The Italy game was a given.

Half of those changes are injuries and the coach has always said he was going to rotate the squad for this game. To be fair a number of those changes are like the like in terms of quality.
The games are so close together there's no way you can play the same team each game - rotation is to be expected.

Fair enough RDW, you know more about that squad than I do.
LIW I don't think it's a rule and I'm not sure it ever was? Wales have rung the changes, but we're playing minnows Georgia.
LIW I don't think it's a rule and I'm not sure it ever was? Wales have rung the changes, but we're playing minnows Georgia.

Really surprised there aren't more changes, just to freshen it up but also Id prefer McPhillips at 10 to offer a bit more threat to the Baby Blacks
McPhillips? Johnston was a big upgrade on McPhillips. He made a few mistakes but was left on the 80 min, his first 80 min since december.
An upgrade? He did nothing except receive the ball and pass it right away, he didnt attack the gainline or look to create anything
Maybe there was no space down his channel to run at.
I disagree about him not being crestive. Ireland got a lot of possession from his kicking and his passing was good.
McPhillips looked very ordinary during the 6N, so it's fair enough to give Johnston another chance. However I didn't think Johnston looked any great shakes either in the Welsh game. I thought Brett Connon put in marginally better performances than both during the 6N but he's not in the squad so what do I know!

Jordie Barrett. Can't help thinking we'll be hearing more of this lad.
