In the immortal words of Will from the Inbetweeners: That, was Frak dreadful.

The battle royal was a mess from start to finish. Why build up Darren Young and Bob Backlund to A. Have Backlund return with zero fan fare in a throw away segment and B have Darren Young win in such unconvincing fashion? He won without doing anything, he looks like a mug. Atleast have him take advantage and eliminate both of them instead of watching them eliminate themselves.

KO vs Cesaro was good but didnt serve a purpose so Cesaro takes a TV loss for nothing. Gotta love that 50/50 booking.

Ambrose and Rollins were both excellent, Dean in particular with a great promo.

So we're getting commissioners and general managers? I get its to free up Shane and Steph but feels tacked on. Taking bets on Daniel Bryan being SmackDown GM but would love to see a swerve and have Shane pick HHH instead of the tired HHH/Steph combo on RAW.

If this is the best RAW can offer I fear the worst trying to fill three hours with a roster thats been cut in half. SmackDown should be fine but I cant see a reason to watch RAW again after the draft if this is whats on offer.

Post by Kay Fabe Tue 12 Jul 2016, 5:25 pm

RAW felt like a 3 hour procession to the main event so we could see what was going to happen with Shane/Stephanie.

I'm quite glad Shane has been given SmackDown!...With Shane saying he wants to change everything about the show then I feel it's only logical for him to be given that show so they can sell the changes.

I'd love to see dramatic changes, blue ropes , no ramp, maybe even a deeper blue canvas, and if possible I'd even position the isle in a way that it's far more intimate with the fans, possibly even have the isle leading onto one of the corners of the ring instead of flat on the side of the ring, a completely different announce team to those on RAW, maybe even dimmer lighting too.

This way Shane can sell to fans that he is creating change, putting his own individual stamp on things but the proof will be in the pudding, for SmackDown! to truly be unique to RAW we need to see different bookers, Vince can't be sitting in the Gorilla veto-ing everything he doesn't personally like.

I'm unsure how this draft will work, if it's one pick each, if so it'll be a hard sell for fans if SmackDown! don't take the more 'obvious' picks to allow them to be drafted to RAW

Realistically, in kayfabe you'd be looking at Cena, Rollins, AJ Styles, Owens, Ambrose, Reigns, Rusev, Cesaro, Bray Wyatt and probably Orton being the top 10 draft picks, so with that in mind five of them should end up on a show each

Interesting raw i thought, well it could never of been worse than last weeks!

I actually want Shane to have a Heel GM for smackdown, so he can step in when needed and Steph to have a face GM so she can continue being the type of heel she is and overrule the decisions. Not sure how that will work though.
