The Games

Post by Dolphin Ziggler on Wed 10 Aug 2016, 10:53 pm

First topic message reminder :

It seems bonkers to me that we had nowhere to discuss all the events at once, and I know there will be a lot of people like me tuning into Synchronised Diving, Dressage, Archery and Shooting with no real likelihood of doing so again for another 4 years! And I'll be damned if I'm gonna search for the right thread on this site for it!

It was weird. Almost bipolar like.

That said I felt bad for him too.

Michael Johnson telling Martyn Rooney that GB had a great chance of gold in the relay. Epic trolling by the great man!

Do Americans have some beef with MJ? Always amazes me that he is on BBC coverage, and that some US station has never picked him up!

No idea. He's been with the BBC since 2004. Track and Field is not that big in the states and he's probably paid better by our broadcasters. Just my guess.

He's my all time favourite athlete. An all round class act.

Amazed we actually beat our London 2012 medal haul (and finished second only to the USA in the table).

Great to see the continuing progress by our athletes and their coaches...not to mention the rest of the support staff that help make it all possible.

Just gutted that Mo Farah is calling it a day as far as track events are concerned. Gonna miss watching him accelerate past and pull away, (seemingly effortlessly), from the rest of the field. Sad

Thanks for the memories, you legend.

Cheer up , Wolfe...Mo will still be running on the track in the London World Championships next year...

I will really miss him when he's gone too : many memorable moments from these Games ; but the one that had me shouting at my television was the last lap of Mo's 5000 metre win.

Classic. thumbsup
