ITF to announce provisional suspensions

Thoughts on this? On the one hand, it's better transparency. On the other, it means that an athlete subsequently found clean will always have a potential stigma attached to them. Lizzie Armitstead in the cycling is a good example. She has been found not to have committed any anti-doping violation, yet has been tainted by the release of the fact she had to appeal to CAS to be cleared.

I don't think it is going to make any difference. When was the last time a tennis player was found out? It was Sharapova that cast aspersions at the ITF when she convened her press conference.

Not sure I follow that NS. The ITF has pursued Sharapova, Cilic and Troicki in recent times - all big names in the sport. Sharapova only made an announcement herself to control the message - not to cast aspersions on the ITF. She knew she would be found guilty and wanted to get ahead of the curve.
