Yarde could have made more effort to get to that. Gave up on it.

So we don't need to release the tackled player now then?

Well we've played awful but we're in front...Aus must be wondering what they can do. Hughes growing into the game.

Must be gutting for Oz to have blown so fiercely and worked so hard only to end up behind after 30 mins

Absooutely....I think they wanted to blow us away in the first 30.
They're still bloomin dangerous ball in hand though....im on edge everytime they get the ball.

England need to stop Oz making so much ground so easily - if they don't there will be a lot more tries

Re: England vs Australia
That's what I said before Heaf.
Australia are winning every collision....where in the summer we dominated.
Is that because we are missing Itoje, Haskell and Billy V...3 hugely physical players...and the replacements Wood and Lawes aren't!

Re: England vs Australia
Yeah their defensive line is so much quicker than ours. But despite how far back we are defending they are still managing clean breaks. Concerning.

England very lucky so far, created very little themselves.

Re: England vs Australia
Not sure I would say lucky Munkian. We have defended well. For all Aussies possession and attacking dominance ....you need to score those tries and we have stoped them doing that.
We need to try and get the ball more second half though!

Re: England vs Australia
A scrappy but very good game. The Aussies look very dangerous on the attack, especially down Yarde's wing.
Hughes has had a very good game IMHO, thought he would be a weak link but he has stood up well.

Re: England vs Australia
could npot be any tighter. 16-13 to Australia.
With how the game started thought Australia would be out of sight now. But England fought back and now it is game on in the second half.

Re: England vs Australia
I would not be so worried Heaf, England under Jones are a very good side in the second half of games. I still think they will win by 10

Hope you're right
Not sure how Wood was pinged at the end there - was about 3m away from the ball when the Oz SH decided to trip over him ...

I don't think we are using him as much as Billy, but to be fair it's his first start.

I think England subs should be stronger than Australia's (Maybe not Harrison..)

I just think that Jone's is a much more tactical coach, his deployment of the subs in the second half is what will see England home I feel.

Because he has been caught out of position several times in defence and missed a couple of tackles.

Re: England vs Australia
Try was fine - as long as his right hand gets it before or as it hits the ground it's not a knock on ...

Re: England vs Australia
His right hand touched the ball down before it hit the floor so no knock on.

Re: England vs Australia
Only watching the text here but what strikes me is that in some ways this is continuation of the Summer. Oz looking very dangerous in parts but working very hard for their scores. England scoring quickly when they have the chance despite not always looking great
