All Blacks v Lions - 2nd Test Predictions

Post by No9 on Tue 27 Jun 2017, 2:57 am

2nd test Predictions... also know a prediction game..

So here we go... Let's keep it simple and not turn it into a battle ground.

How about simply using the poll to predict the first test result and add your score prediction below for entry into the competition (no prizes, just for fun)....

Ok, I have used SportForm's Prediction competition rules (hope that's Ok SportForm) and put your predictions in.. (in the spoiler below incase you want to read them)

Rules:

1) Each Test you will be asked to predict the scores for that games. All predictions must be made before the start of the game.

2) You will be get points depending on how close you are to the actual score. Points will be awarded in the following way:-
- You will get 20 points for getting the correct match outcome.
- You will get 10 points for getting a teams score correct.
- You will lose one of those 10 points for every point you are away from a teams score. Therefore you must be with 10 points of a teams score to gain points.
- If you get the match score spot on you will be awarded with double points. So if the correctly predict a match's score you will receive a maximum 80 points.

Example:-
Your prediction - All Blacks 17-31 Lions
Actual result - All Blacks 25-31 Lions
Your score 32 points

You would receive 20 points for correctly predicting Lions to win. As you were 8 points off All Blacks' score you get 2 points for that and another 10 points for getting Lions' score spot on.

So the All Black Lions Prediction results so far are:-

I think the Lions will win. I dont think they were too far off NZ. The NZ pack was immense, the Lions now now the level they need to reach and I think they may do it.

Anyone else think Kiwi coaches must be brainwashed into defending the ABs no matter what the criticism? Hanson actually rang a radio station to have a whinge over Gatland's comments re Connor Murray even though the criticism was fair based on this video:

https://mobile.twitter.com/mike_cantillon/status/879333982596468736/video/1

It was the same story with Graham Henry re the O'Driscoll saga on the last tour. Some really graceless comments from Henry.

It really depends on how the lions come out. I look at the side and especially that pack and wonder where the fire will come from. T'eo brings it, Farrell brings it and SOB albeit not recently.

To say we'll win by cutting out the mistakes is utter garbage. We played reasonably well, didn't commit to many errors, give away too many penalties. Expecting perfection is expecting the impossible. No team bar NZ (at the moment) can expect to put away every opportunity they have.

Unless we bring a performance of sheer controlled rage I think we could get 40 points put on us. NZ will be better than last week and they are the one team that grinds the knife in.

We won't out play them, the only way is to want it more. Is their a player in the squad that has more intensity than Brodie Retallick?

Thinking along similar lines despite Pete's weather info. Memories of 2005 still in my mind. Might be a similar result in 2017.

I'd definitely never have predicted that so far 5 people think the lions will win. I didn't think there were 5 people in the country that thought that, in fact I don't think there's 5 people in the Lions squad that think that Smile

New Zealand by more than 15 points. Perhaps NZ 36 - Lions 15

I predict a 30 point AB victory Warburton goes off injured after 35mins so AWJ will be captain of the losing side.

Problem being, AWJ can't last 35 minutes these days.

This game will probably end with Farrell or Sexton as captain.

It's just a gut feeling but strangely I reckon the Lions will get quite close in this one, maybe 22-19 to NZ. The agonising nature of defeat will break morale and I predict a humiliation next week in the final Test.

This is the most important game of the tour, Lions lose tomorrow and the tour is red rover. obviously the Lions have to throw everything at the ABs, in turn the ABs if they want to win will have to play better than they ever have before in their history. a close one.

 ABs 18 ...Lions 13.

Really? They'll have to play better than against Aus, SA or England etc in their pomp?

I think you're possibly over-inflating the chance of this Lions side.

NZ 40 - Lions 12
Sonny Bill will make easier yards than last week, Leinert -Brown and Naholo will have a field day. As the pressure comes on Sexton will try too hard, getting turned over behind the gain line making life even easier for the AB's. I dont think it will be pretty from a Lions perpective.
