Pretty brutal article here on the injuries and fears pro rugby players and probably a lot of amateurs face to play a sport they love. I've seen the arguments regarding knowing the risks they face to keep the core of the game we have now vs a safety first approach. We know that some of the new trial laws are under investigation as a possible cause to mow impacts and more injuries.

Puts the zero tolerance we're seeing on tackles at neck level and higher into perspective and raises those questions on reducing enchanting sizes with the hope to reduce size of players and therefore impacts back in the news. Can't see the English or French players getting any more rest time, when all the pressure is on them to play more games rather than less.
The Celtic League nations used to rotate players in the interests of their welfare, but that was frowned upon by the English and French as giving them an unfair advantage in the European Cup. Ironically the nations / clubs with the most money will have the biggest and highest quality squads to cover injuries, so high attrition rates suit them in pursuit of success.
Despite the worsening statistics, there are people out there who still think the Lions tour is good for players!

And some people who view the game in isoloation of clubs or internationals. I keep saying it needs to be viewed from a perspective on the game as a whole. I've also been thinking of the view that the rule changes are in part leading to the different way of playing. Think it may be following the teams like saracens who are all about increased fitness having players back to their feet as fast as possible and in the defensive line.
