NXT TAKEOVER: BROOKLYN III RESULTS

The NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn III event from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York kicks off with an awesome opening video package focusing on the history of NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn events, and then the storylines heading into the top title matches on tonight's card, specifically Bobby Roode vs. Drew McIntyre and Asuka vs. Ember Moon.

We shoot to a dark Barclays Center in Brooklyn where the WWE Universe is packed into the building and chanting "NXT! NXT! NXT!" as we hear some light guitar riffs.

From there, the music kicks in and it's a full band rocking out on stage near the entrance way at the top of the ramp. The LED screens in the background read, "Code Orange," as the band continues to rock out and clips of NXT action is mixed in.

Johnny Gargano vs. Andrade "Cien" Almas

After the opening sequence completed, things head down to ringside where the commentary team, led by Mauro Ranallo, welcome us to the show.

Our first match of the evening will be a singles contest, and will feature Johnny Gargano going up against Andrade "Cien" Almas.

Following the ring entrances of both Gargano and Almas, the bell rings to kick off the in-ring action at tonight's event. The fans break out into a "Johnny Wrestling! Johnny Wrestling!" chant.

The two are even early on, exchanging holds and countering each others moves, with no one establishing a real lead in the match. Finally, Gargano gets Almas down to the mat and starts taking control of the action.

Gargano nails Almas with some sharp chops in the corner as the fans in the Barclays Center react. Almas counters a Gargano move attempt into somewhat of a backbreaker type of move. Almas is now taking over the offensive control of the match.

Almas now has Gargano grounded and is in firm control, pretty much a complete 180 in terms of how Gargano was controlling the action from the offset. The two hit a double clothesline on each other and now both guys are down.

After some back-and-forth action, Gargano gets Almas in the Gargano Escape in the center of the ring, however Almas ends up breaking free. Almas fighting back now, but Gargano takes back over control. Gargano sets up for the finish but is distracted by Vega throwing a DIY t-shirt at him. Almas takes advantage, hitting a dropkick on Gargano in the corner. He follows up with the big Hammerlock DDT for the 1-2-3.

Winner: Andrade "Cien" Almas

RAW & SmackDown Live General Managers In Attendance

We shoot to a sky box where we see RAW General Manager Kurt Angle and SmackDown Live General Manager Daniel Bryan watching the show. Peyton Royce and Billie Kay are talking with Bryan while Roderick Strong is talking with Kurt Angle. No Way Jose and some others are also seen standing around.

Backstage: Drew McIntyre Prepares

Backstage, we see Drew McIntyre preparing for his shot at Bobby Roode at the NXT World Championship in tonight's NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn III main event.

NXT World Tag-Team Championship
- The Authors of Pain (C) vs. Killian Dain & Alexander Wolfe

The video package for the NXT World Tag-Team Championship match airs, as tag-team gold is up for grabs in our second contest of the evening.

After the video package SAnitY -- Eric Young, Nikki Cross, Killian Dain and Alexander Wolfe -- make their way down to the ring. The latter two will be representing the group in this tag-team title bout. Out next are the current title-holders, Akam and Rezar, The Authors of Pain.

Dain and Wolfe attack Akam and Rezar as soon as the two hit the ring. Eventually, The Authors of Pain gain the upper hand and send both Wolfe and Dain out to the floor.

Akam and Rezar decide not to wait, as they bring the fight to Dain and Wolfe out on the floor. Eric Young is shown pulling a table out from underneath the ring. The referee tries to calm things down so he can ring the bell to officially start the match.

Finally, Akam brings Wolfe into the ring and the referee rings the bell to officially start the match. Akam takes it to Wolfe and then tags in Rezar. The two briefly double-team Wolfe before Rezar takes over on his own.

Young starts jumping up on the apron and takes a tag from Wolfe instead of Dain. Apparently he is taking Dain's spot in the match. Akam ends up clotheslining him over the barricade. Young ends up pulling Rezar into the crowd where a brawl ensues. Eventually, the action makes it into the ring where The Authors of Pain double-team Eric Young.

Rezar and Akam take turns tagging in and out, occasionally doing some double-team offense, on a grounded Eric Young. Young has been unable to tag out and has been taking a beating ever since putting himself into the match.

Rezar and Akam go to double team Young off the top rope but Nikki holds onto Young, so instead, the two end up taking a big spill onto the canvas by themselves. Young gets a close pinfall attempt in off of this spot.

Young ends up hitting a big dive on both guys. Wolfe follows in next with a big dive of his own. Nikki goes to do a dive but Paul Ellering stops her. As Ellering is being sent out, Nikki goes to the top. Akam catches Nikki as she leaps off the top and holds her. Dain charges and sends Nikki and Akam through the table that Young had previously set up. The crowd dug that. They break out into a "This Is Awesome" chant. Wolfe tags in and the two double team Rezar. Wolfe covers him and gets the 1-2-3.

Winners and NEW NXT World Tag-Team Champions: SAnitY

After The Match: Kyle O'Reilly & Bobby Fish Attack

After the match, we see some replays of the action and the finish. We shoot back live to the arena to see the reactions of both the winners and losers until Kyle O'Reilly and Bobby Fish show up and take out everyone in sight. They leave everyone laying as the crowd in attendance at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn goes nuts.

Aleister Black vs. Hideo Itami

WWE Hall Of Famer Jim Ross comes out to join the commentary team, as he will be a guest announcer for this one-on-one contest.

Our third match of the evening features Aleister Black versus Hideo Itami. The band that played at the start of the show, Code Orange, comes back out to play Black to the ring.

Black blasts away at Itami with kicks to start off the action inside the ring. Black knocks Itami out to the floor with a big kick and then takes a seat in the middle of the ring.

Itami back in the ring fighting back now. He nails Black with a big knee as he begins to make a comeback. Itami blasting away at Black on the mat with punches.

Hideo Itami continues his attack, blasting away at Black and then mocking him by sitting in the middle of the ring just as he did moments ago. Itami cuts off a Black comeback attempt with a big DDT for a two-count.

Black starts fighting back and working his way back into the contest. Itami hits a Falcon Arrow from the top rope. Black is now bleeding. Itami with a near fall. The two exchange punches and kicks until Itami gets another Falcon Arrow spot for a close near fall. Black avoids the GTS and out of nowhere, nails Itami with his Black Mass finisher for the 1-2-3.

After the match, Black again takes a seat in the center of the ring as his music plays. On commentary, Jim Ross thanks Mauro Ranallo and the gang for having him and leaves the announce table now that the match has concluded.

Winner: Aleister Black

Asuka starts fighting back with kicks but Moon cuts her off. With Asuka back out on the floor, Moon goes for a big cannonball splash. The two crash and land hard. With the action resuming outside the ring, Asuka is smashing Moon's face into the ring steps. Asuka blasts her with a big suplex onto the steel ramp. Moon grabs her injured shoulder.

Back into the ring, Asuka unloads on Moon with some kicks before going back to work on her injured arm. After Asuka dominates the action for some time, Moon starts making a comeback attempt, firing away with kicks of her own. Asuka cuts her off with a big German suplex into the turnbuckles. Asuka goes for the Asuka Lock but Moon struggles and avoids it. Moon cuts Asuka's momentum short with a big running clothesline.

Asuka starts landing some brutal knees to Moon now as the end seems near. Out of nowhere, Moon hits Asuka with The Eclipse for a very close two-count. Both women are down now as the crowd gets on their feet.

Moon heads to the top rope, however Asuka yanks the referee in front of her. The ref moves and Moon launches into the air for a cross-body. Asuka rolls through for a pinfall attempt, but only manages to get two. Asuka and the referee argue. Moon takes advantage of the distraction and blasts Asuka with a big kick for another close two-count. The fans break out into "NXT! NXT! NXT!" chants. Asuka goes for the arm-bar but Moon reverses into a pin attempt. Asuka kicks out. Finally, Asuka drops Moon into the Asuka Lock. She squeezes down and Moon finally taps out. Asuka retains the title and continues her undefeated streak.

Roode drops McIntyre over the top rope and out to the floor, allowing himself the chance to catch another quick breath. McIntyre gets control of the action and takes Roode to the top for a suplerplex, however Roode ends up crotching McIntyre on the top. Roode gets McIntyre in the Tree Of Woe. Adam Cole BAYBAY!

After some initial fears about losing talent NXT Takeovers have been killing it recently. They always seem to up their game before a big WWE show aswell, so follow THAT Summerslam.

SAnitY put over huge, Ember and Asuka easily had the best WWE womens match of the year and my boy Drew Mc dethroning Roode.

I'd expect to see Authors of Pain and Roode called up to main roster sooner rather than later now.

Thought it was decent without being really good. First one that has really led me to be interested in what happens next, whereas usually I find them to be quite standalone shows.

Black/Itami was intriguing but Hideo just looks off the pace. I don't have the depth of knowledge on him, so that might be what he's always been like, but he just looked a bit lacklustre.

Tag match was intriguing but not a huge fan of the way it went down. The ending/post-match was better than the match.

First match was good and nice little finish with the shirt. Liked that a lot.

Women's match was the best one, and they have some real talent in there still. Asuka is a don, Ember is very good too. For all the emotion and chemistry of the four horsewomen spell, I think these two are easily as good and in parts better as wrestlers. They told a good story too, but no one is gonna invest as much.

In regards to Asuka, how do you move her move her up to to the main shows? With the streak intact to protect her and build her as the female version of Brock to a possible match with Ronda Rousey at Mania or let someone take her title in NXT and get the rub from doing so?

I think it she will rumble on. I saw the proposed list of call ups from NXT and she isn't on it.

In terms of bringing her up to the main roster, aren't they planning on doing a Women's Rumble next year? If so, i think you just found your winner.

The MITB was the way, but now I'd leave her there. I think it will be great for that division for all the competitors left behind to fall to her, so that when she leaves there is a power balance in that they can all feel on a level playing field.

Sure HHH has begged for her to remain anyway. Sure I saw quotes from him recently about how he wants to build around her.

The problem is how weak their female roster whilst being stretched across three shows. Makes more sense for my money to have a women's show in the same format as 205 Live that is also connected to Raw. Otherwise we are in the revolving feud door where everyone is overexposed to the matchups and people like Nia Jax go from dominant to cumbersome in a month.

MITB was absolutely the right way. Especially to protect her streak.

Someone is going to have to take it at some point, and you could probably make a case for Ember Moon, i'm not sure the rub will mean all that much if the Women's Division is weak.

I'd certainly be looking to make a female only show, actually allows real storylines to develop on there and for it to be properly branded.
