John Barclay speaks truthfully about concussion

Post by RDW on Wed 08 Nov 2017, 8:25 am

There's a really good article from John Barclay on the BBC, where he speaks openly about his recent concussion issues

I'm glad to hear he had the sense to take his time and not rush himself back - as he said he's got a family to think of and he didn't want any lasting damage. It is also worrying to hear that he passed all the return to play protocols but made the call himself not to play as he knew he wasn't right - that suggests some real flaws in the system and I'm sure lots of players are returning earlier than they should.

Finally, for those how you who are on Twitter check out his regular videos of him jumping out and scaring Stuart Hogg - they are brilliant. It is definitely weird that he sat in a bin for 15 minutes for one of them though...

surely hanging about in a wheelie bin is counter productive to recovering from a head knock?
