The final round seemed to be a succession of after you please as players vied for the lead and backed away at the last moment.  Ten Fantasy League picks finished in the points and three Fantasy Leaguers had four picks score points.  McLaren, Raycastleunited, and TheCleaver were those three but TC was the only one of them to pick Jon Rahm and he added two fourth placed finishers in his charge to victory.  Davie, LadyPutt, and SirBenson all had three picks score points; again Davie was the only one of them to have selvected Rahm.  SirBenson had picked Shane Lowry who had set the clubhouse lead after low round of 63; the low round points were enough to move him into third place.  Eyetoldyouso, GPB, I'm Never Wrong, Pedro, and Super_Realist all had two picks score while Kwinigolfer had just the one pick score points.

Final Round Low Round (10 points)
Shane Lowry -9
1. SirBenson

________________________________________________________________________

The Race to Dubai finale kicks off with the majority of those within the top sixty positions.  Two lucky players managed to sneak in due to the planned no shows of Rory McIlroy and Henrik Stenson.  Johm Rahm headlines the field as the top ranked player in the world rankings.  Tommy Fleetwood heads the Race to Dubai standings from Justin Rose and Sergio Garcia; all three have a chance to win the overall shebang.  Matthew Fitzpatrick is the defending champion and Lee Westwood is the only other former winner in the field; they both have the chance to tie McIlroy and Stenson who each have two victories in this event.

Due to the limited field size the number of picks is scaled back to two from each category plus reserve.  This is also a no cut event so the usual cut bonuses are not in effect but additional points are available in round two.

Everyone please notify others of changes in field before tournament starts and invalid or incomplete picks from participants.

RULES

Picking players: Unless stated, pick a total of 6 players as follows:

Pick 2 players from each category, plus a reserve per category.

Event winner: The person with the most total points at the completion of each event will be declared the winner. In case of a tie, those involved will match-off each picks' final position score in descending order. i.e. Player A's best finish vs. Player B's best finish, Player A's 2nd best finish vs. Player B's 2nd best finish, etc... until one's pick finishes better than the other(s).

If there is a tie after all 6 picks have been matched against each other, those involved will be declared co-winners.

Player Withdrawals: If you pick a player who withdraws during a tournament, that player will be eligible for points for all completed rounds and making the cut if they withdraw after the cut. It must be apparent that the player completed their round for them to be eligible for either the low round, worse round, top 5, or top 10 low round scores.  If a player withdraws before starting the tournament then your reserve will be put in that player's place. It is up to you to check that your players are in the starting field.

Holidays / Absences: If you will be absent for an upcoming event (e.g holidays) you may post the numbers on the most recent fantasy league event and the respective tournament(s) that apply or PM them to me.  Example: Pick 3 players and 1 reserve from each category and the relative event number or name: Players 4, 5, and 8, reserve 9 from Category A, players 1, 3, and 7, reserve 5 from Category B, players 1, 2 and 17, reserve 12 from Category C, Event #12.

Failure to submit picks: If you do not submit picks you will be awarded zero points.

Deadlines: Picks must ideally be submitted before the first drive is struck on the first day of the tournament.  However, late picks submitted after the tournament has begun must be for players who have yet to start (or are not showing a score on europeantour.com, PGATour.com, etc.), and these will not be valid unless they are seconded by any other league member.

All fantasy league disputes and discrepancies will be considered by the League Judge: LadyPutt. All decisions made by the League Judge are final.

In the final event of the season GPB has gotten off to a flier.  Four of his six picks made the Top 5 Low Round scores and if he had chosen Matthew Fitzpatrick he would have had all of the picks that scored points.  Justin Rose, the most popular scoring pick appearing in eight selections, shot 66 to share second place with Scott Hend, one of the least popular picks.  The next most popular pick, Matthew Fitzpatrick, was selected six times and shares fourth place with Ryan Fox and Paul Dunne amongst others.

GPB had Rose, Hend, Dunne, and Fox.  LadyPutt and Super_Realist both selected Rose and Fox while McLaren, Raycastleunited, and TheCleaver all selected Rose and Fitzpatrick.  Davie and I'm Never Wrong both had Rose while Kwinigolfer, Pedro, and SirBenson all selected Fitzpatrick.  Only one Fantasy Leaguer failed to get off the mark in round one and unusually it was Eyetoldyouso.  Round two sees an opportunity to catch up.

Patrick Reed shot 65 for the round of the day.

Tyrrell Hatton came storming back into contention after a round of 63. His was the low round of the day and he sits one shot behind Matthew Fitzpatrick who shot another 67. Fitzpatrick's 67 was also enough to make the Top 5 Low Round scores. Two other picks also scored low enough to earn points.

Pedro earned the most points in round two with three of his picks, including Hatton, scoring. He's joined at the top with McLaren who also had Hatton and Fitzpatrick. Raycastleunited and SirBenson both had Hatton and another scoring pick. Eyetoldyouso, LadyPutt, and I'm Never Wrong all had Hatton score points for them and Kwinigolfer and TheCleaver scored points through Fitzpatrick.

Thanks for pointing that out, Grumps; if I was a football team I'd've been relegated.

Thanks for all the fantasising - all the best.

Cheers 1GG, Here's to a great culmination to the season!

Looks like the players had the right motivation to get the win.

Thanks for running again 1GG and others for taking part, would be nice to be back again next season!

Anyone on here play the official European Tour Fantasy game? A month in I’ve just noticed it’s started up again and organised myself a team.

I tried last year ned, but lost interest. As far as I remember you can only pick the same player x times. And with the amount of no-names and uninteresting tourneys I dropped it.
