Another Drive4show 'Anything goes' thread
First topic message reminder :
Stoke have spent 10 years in the premier league, they are bottom 3 and dumped out the cup by coventry. The perspy is that they are an established prem team, hughes has them shipping goals, not scoring and being certainties for relegation. They have spent big money on wimmer who has struggled, imbula who is out on loan and berahino who cant score, bojan is well paid and on the bench for alaves. Stoke fans have perspective, hughes had no clues. Surprised he stayed this long.
My family are potters!

Saw him at Loftus Road this season and he looked great. Lots of teenagers burst on to the scene with pace and trickery, but this lad amazed me with his composure on the ball and decision making.
Reminded me a bit of when Kyle Walker was on loan at QPR the season before he broke into the Spurs team. Walker was head and shoulders above everybody else on the pitch, it's unusual when the most skilful and creative player on the pitch is at full back. I saw that with Sessegnon, but I think he's going to be better than Walker.

First round for a long time today after new hip etc and the love is back-until it started raining.
Enough good shots to realise that you never loose it -not sure Ill ever be a week in week out club player again which is odd after about 30 years of it but the golf and company with the lads after play was very refreshing.
Liverpool looking good enough so far.

Glad to hear things are getting back to normal for you after your surgery Dyna.
It's amazing what a goal or two will do to a game.

Did anyone think Salah would be this good! Still makes you laugh to think Chelsea sold Salah and De Bruyne. Liverpool are a very good team, a bigger squad, and they could challenge next year for the title. And to think they were a laughing stock at the start of the season.

I just heard that Harry Kane is trying to claim Salahs first goal last night saying it deflected off him.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing but Salah never looked the part at Chelsea. At the time he left you would be extremely hard pressed to find a Chelsea fan that was upset and begging him to stay. Anyone that tells you different is a liar.
De Bruyne is different though, you could tell that boy had the makings of greatness from the word go but did have work rate issues in his early days. Rather than work on that Jose decided to send him packing. And the rest is Balon D'or potential history.

Gutted for the Ox and England, I know the Fab 3 get a lot of credit, and rightly so, but he has really come on this year, began to grow into the player everyone thought he could be.

It's a shame on him not getting to play the Champions League, but it's a bit like someone with a Ford Escort claiming they won't get to race in the Grand Prix because they've got a flat tyre when it comes to him missing the World Cup.
Hard on him personally, but probably saves him the embarrassment in the long run.

Anyone feel as if those two goals Liverpool leaked right at the end will come back to haunt them? (I've got fence posts that leap higher than Lovren . . . . . . . )

Super, you're actually my only beacon of hope for England, Bearing in mind that pretty much when you give a football opinion the opposite happens, I might just have to put a fiver on football coming home!

Ha ha, don't waste your money Diggers. It's not the Mike Parry jinx. Not even England players think they can win.
Do you really expect England, a team who haven't won a knockout game since 2006 to have anything close to winning a tournament? We often talk about bottle jobs on this forum, but in order to lose your bottle, you have to be good in the first place, and England are not.
England don't have a single player who consistently performs well for the country. You need 11 of them doing that to win a tournament. So not very likely then?

Well, I suspect they'll make it past Poland. The World Cup is a little bit further east than that. They might stop off on the way back, mind, they'll still have a couple of weeks to kill.

England will qualify from their group and probably get to the quarters, a good draw and potentially the semis but unlikely.
Germany and Spain are the best international teams then it's a big drop off to the rest.

I have to admit I'm starting to change my mind on him. Always thought he was utterly garbage, but Liverpool seems to be getting something out of him and what I've seen of him has been as good as it's ever been this year.

The Ox has been excellent the second half of the season and with Lallana's long-term injury not resolved yet I think he would have been a guaranteed starter in Russia had he not done his knee on Tuesday night.

Surely the FA wouldn't sell? £800 million is not much more than what they paid for it to be built.

What happens when any NFL enterprise goes belly up in Britain? Expect the sweet FA would repurchase for $2B.
FA should tell the NFL b0ll0cks without any more faffing around.

No but it is almost paid off so the majority would be cash in the bank. Plus Spring and Summer internationals and the FA Cup and Play-off finals will remain. Club Wembley (and the profit that makes) would also remain.
There would be no shortage of other stadiums happy to host the Autumn internationals.
I don't know how long it would take the FA to get £650m - £700m in the bank so from a business point of view, I can understand it.

Yeah I reckon London Jaguars.
I could be wrong here - and our US based posters can correct me - but London, England etc still holds some level of prestige in America so having a team with London the name will help with sponsors etc.

37 games, he's produced 13 goals, 14 assists. For some attacking midfielders that's a career best season. Alli must be pretty special indeed if we think that represents failure.

I've been given permission to play my first game of golf in 6 months and since the baby was born. I haven't swung a club and the only time ive looked at my clubs was when the paw patrol toys had been stuck down the bag and got trapped. And the weather is looking wet. I will be sh@t anyway but sh@t and wet does not sound appealing!

Defo get out Ben, I found any time away from my kids, when they were babies, to be good for my mental health.
My missus is OK really at time off, I don't play very often anyway. But I can guarantee that when I'm off to play a full round she'll turn around and say, "So what time will you be back?"
This is the point I want to scream, you know how effing long a round takes...but don't obviously as she scares the crap out of me.
Personally, 12 hole courses would be ideal for me, I'm so dispirited by the last 6 I may as well go home anyway!

Re: Another Drive4show 'Anything goes' thread
To be fair, it was a bit tongue in cheek saying permission. Shes usually pretty good with me playing as I'm not a regular golfer anyway, usually about once a month. I would say the option to play yesterday was the first chance I've had anyway given my regular partners have their own problems with family and back concerns, so still no idea when I'll play next anyway!
Good to get out though, rained on the first then was ok gor the rest of the round. Some proper hacking at times though but mixed in with some decent stuff.

Well done Ben, have to keep an eye out for the fixture list.
Massive win for Palace, pretty much achieved the (alleged) impossible. I had a look at their team today, when they have everyone fit it's a pretty impressive 11, good to see Loftus Cheek score, he definitely needs to add that to his game.
