The face of TV comedy (read BBC comedy from the article) has been negatively changed by their insistence on box-ticking rather than using people who are actually funny.  When the likes of Sue Perkins, Reginald D Hunter, Romesh Ranganathan, Allan Carr and Gina Yashere are regarded as comedians you realise that the BBC's version of comedy is very different to anyone else's. And I'll add nepotism in the case of Jack Whitehall, who is about as funny as homelessness.
