Men’s QF - Centre Court Matches?

Post by Born Slippy on Tue 10 Jul 2018, 7:11 am

This should be a no brainer surely? Centre court matches should be:

Nadal v Del Potro (assuming he closes it out)
Djokovic v Nishikori

Will Wimbledon make the right decision?

So Fed on number one tomorrow, then? They usually try to put the Big Four on number one at least once during the tourney. With no Murray this year, scheduling has been a tad easier for the organisers.

Born Slippy - You're absolutely right. The schedule for Wednesday is now out and, yes, the Djoko and Rafa matches are on centre court. Rog normally has to "slum it" on number one at some stage.
And I can also exclusively reveal that all the singles from Thursday onwards will be on centre!

Who says it will go to 5 sets? Delpo drubbed Nadal in straight sets in the us open back in 2009

Murray reckons courts entirely suit Rafa this year, with more bounce. Doubt if delpo can really worry Rafa unless he serves awesomely and wins tiebreaks. Murray also thinks Djoko could win the whole thing.
My last four: Rog, Rafa, Djoko with Raonic-Isner going to the guy who wins the most tiebreaks.

The last DelPotro win is at Olympics in Rio De Janeiro 2016, while Nadal has won in 2017 (USO) and 2018 (RG). It is an interesting matchup with a 10-5 H2H in Nadal's favour.
