Handing over the reins...
Handing over the reins...
Hi everybody!
Just to let everybody know that as of today I’ve handed over the head honcho roles on the forum to RDW Scotland.
I created this forum after the Beeb announced 606 was to close, and I made it initially to continue chatting with those I’d become internet friends with, it then blew up and large swathes of other 606 users followed along.
Over the years the site has seen members come and go, we’ve had online magazines, podcasts, interviews with sporting stars, a few arguments here and there but I’ve loved every minute of it. The time though has come for someone else to take the helm and give the site a new lease of life that it needs and deserves.
RDW Scotland has kindly offered to take on this responsibility and I look forward to seeing where he takes it and wish him all the very best in that role. I’ll still be about and am there at any point if he needs any assistance, and feel free to PM me at any point or come say hello in the gaming section where I usually frequent (or the off topic).
Cheers
Hero/Rich

Thanks for all the work Rich. You have selflessly given over a massive part of your time over the last 7 years, all while having a relatively young family.
I'm sure I am the same as every other forum member when I say this is massively appreciated, and I now genuinely consider you a mate (not just an internet acquaintance).
I look forward to seeing what fresh ideas RDW brings now.

Thanks internet friend!
Remind me, what date did you say you'd transfer me your moderating powers again?

Thanks for everything Hero - when BBC 606 shut down I had no place else to go, and you gave us a forum to call home. 606V2 has grown massively since you set it all up. People don't see what work goes on behind the scenes and we're all in your debt for keeping the forum going.
I'm looking forward to getting stuck in and seeing what we can do to make this place better for everyone. I'll be setting up a series of threads to gain everyone's opinions on how we can improve the forum going forwards

I too remember the frustration when 606 shut down. It had become a good, albeit complicated (Triangulation...) forum with a great community of posters. Lots of alternatives were available but this seemed the best of the lot from a rugby perspective and I stand by that.
Thanks a lot for all your hard work Rich and all the best to RDW taking over the reins!

Well done, Hero. Thanks for running the show.
I probably need to spend less time on here too. It's 8 years and one day since I signed up on here. I spent the first 4 years archiving stuff and closing off threads. It's much better keeping a low profile - that's for sure.
All the best, RDW! I'm sure the 6N threads will be cordial and orderly as usual.
