All time ODI XI
Now the Cricket World Cup is over. All credit to both the English team and Black Caps for providing us the GOAT one day match. My heartiest congratulation to English Team and hard luck NZ guys. I may disagree with the boundary rule but that would have been same for NZ too,if they had won, so its unfair to discredit the winning team.

Re: All time ODI XI
I think these kinds of lists should be restricted to set years - i.e. best of the last 10 years etc. I am old enough to remember Alan Lamb and Robin Smith for England. Both on their day terrific 1 day batsmen but the only name that will appear in lists like this for that era is Botham, because, well, he was Botham.

Re: All time ODI XI
I agree with lostinwales' point. But then, these alltime sides are a kind of fan indulgence...
So here we go for India
Sachin Tendulkar
Rohit Sharma
Sourav Ganguly
Virat Kohli
Yuvraj Singh
Mahendra Singh Dhoni
Kapil Dev
Anil Kumble
Javagal Srinath
Zaheer Khan
Jasprit Bumrah
Rahul Dravid, Ajit Agarkar, Virender Sehwag and Harbhajan Singh are names that would certainly come into the selection committee discussions.

That's a very fair comment.
Ganguly & Amarnath would be in my all time X1 and perhaps Shastri and Binny also.....as I have seen them all excel against the very best in global multi-team tournaments.
2 of them batting allounders and the other 2 bowling allrounders and all world class performers.
India won the 1983 world cup and 1985 Benson & Hedges Cup ( 6 team tourament) and when I look back I find we had so many allrounders then.

Re: All time ODI XI
I like that England team, would find it hard to really improve on that. I think in the future Woakes will be in the frame, and eventually Archer, though that is getting probably a bit far ahead. Swann was a very good ODI spinner, am not too familiar with Underwood's record in that format.
Its probably easier to pick an England XI than a lot of other countries as there's been a hell of a lot of garbage over the years.

I would have Swann ahead of deadly Derek.
I would also say that it is Root or Pietersen, especially as Root never captains the ODI side. Being biased I therefore go Root at 3, Morgan at 4. The Irish lads batting is good, leadership exceptional.
