What. A. Show

Everything was done right. Kai wasn't a surprise, they'd laid that on in recent weeks well, but it was a good reveal and a well executed story. And then Ripley still got the win, which was brilliantly done as her opponent's basically laid themselves out and she finished beautifully. Big fan.

Balor/Riddle was very good without being exceptional, although I feel Balor has a lot more to give. Riddle looked incredible, so I should give some more credit to Balor there.

Triple threat was excellent. Priest didnt seem to get much credit from the crowd but I think, efedder name aside, he is excellent. The other two, well it's expected.

Main event was glorious

Ripley is going go be a very big star soon. Big win here, coupled with her big win on SmackDown (which was one of the best finishes I’ve ever seen btw) and a good showing tonight will see her rocket up the ladder. Total package for me. Ripley aside it was a bloody good match, and I really enjoyed the story of the 4-2. And the four heels werent completely buried and make to look like idiots. Clever booking.

My only negative is if you didnt watch the pre-show you dont know what happened to Yim, other than Mauro telling us that Kai is replacing her. I know it was on the pre-show but not everyone watches that, so a wee bit of footage between Ripley and the next womans entrance.

Riddle vs Balor was fine for what it was. Didnt have the same heat Gargano vs Balor would have had but they did they’re best. Turned a corner on Riddle big time. When I first saw him I hated him but he’s grown on me. Balor could get back to his best on NXT, especially now as a heel.

Predictable outcome in the Triple Threat but all three guys gave it socks. Dunne and Priest always deliver and Big Damo kept up with them no bother. In Kayfabe, its hard to see how Dunne can lose tonight, but at the same time its maybe not the time to take the title off Cole. Genuinely cant call this one.

Loved the main event. 8 of the best in the world tearing it up. Babyface captain starting the match, heel captain coming in last, War Games booking 101. Perfect. Im torn about the bump at the end. It was as safe as it could have been and executed flawlessly, but its still reckless as all hell.

Also, Kevin Owens wearing his NXT gear. 6.5*

I forgot about that, that was tremendous.

For those unaware, triple threat match of Charlotte v Sasha v Ripley, Charlotte with the Figure Eight on Sasha, Ripley crawls underneath Charlotte to backslide pin her. Incredibly creative.

Watched this last night. Absolutely incredible.

The women's match was insane. Candice La Rae didn't half take some punishment. Wasn't a huge fan of Mrs. Gargano up to this, but boy did she impress. Ripley is a bonafide star. Miss Rollins to be could take some tips from her. Io Shirai could also be brilliant. It's hard to fault any of them. I actually preferred it to the Men's match.

The Triple Threat was decent, some nice spots. Big fan of Dunne, and I though all three worked well given the size differences.

Balor v Riddle was everything I expected it to be. One thing about Riddle is his facial expressions. They add so much to the psychology of a match. Really good.

The Men's match. Have to say, whilst it had some great moments, I felt was a bit flat. Maybe cause UE have been in the last two and there was an element of predictability. Might be me, but I find Dijakovic a bit awkward in the ring. Definitely green. Keith Lee was good for the spots he had, and the KO frog splash on to O'Reilly and Dijakovic was amazing.

The use of tables has been criticised and you can see why. The last few minutes is all built up to the Ciampa spot, which whilst being a proper 'holy s**t' moment, wasn't needed. I find it hard to believe that the previous table spots leading up to that moment wouldn't have brought a pin.

Overall a brilliant show. NXT really is the best thing about WWE right now.
