Emoticons on v2 Empty Emoticons on v2

Post by Portnoy on Tue 05 Jul 2011, 9:39 am

Some of them I find annoying simply because like angel and Doh they are too big. And 🤦 is the worst.

:bowler: . Well I don't know about anyone else, but my software doesn't support it. All I see is the code glibly repeated back.

But the range is pretty limited as well. Where are the kiwis, daffodils, thistles, shamrocks etc. to represent rugby nations for instance?

As the vastly overpaid and underutilised admins and mods Ok! seem to do nothing else, is it not possible to extend the flimsy catalog - and standardise their sizes?

To be honest Portnoy I agree with you on all fronts. Many are too large, some aren't supported on my PC like the one you posted and we could easily have a larger selection.

In the spirit of 606 i disagree with everything both of you say and now throw a personal insult at you and make a sweeping nationalistic generalisation. To make it acceptable i add a cheeky smiley Wink .

Just as an update, I think I have (now) figured out how to create one. So if you've got a link to a (small) pic that you want emoticonised add it here (inside a "spoiler" tab - see the "others" button above) and I'll look at it.

Note, I'm at work, so anyone posting anything that gets me in trouble when opening is likely to get a 24 hour site ban Wink

Hold hard Kiwi.

Think about it first.

Surely there needs at least to be a separate Rugby library - or summat.

p.s. http://www.clker.com/clipart-15156.html * plus devil would do you nicely for formal occasions.

I'd like Top Cat to represent the Tigers.

randy What is this emoticon. Dickhead? I don´t get it. I don´t get the follicly challenged guy either hiding his head in shame. This seems a little discriminatory against bald people not to mention a lot of front rowers!

I can´t say I´m a fan of emoticons in general. The pen is mightier than the emoticon. Sometimes I guess it´s difficult to tell if somebody is being sarcastic but as sarcasm is the lowest form of wit then maybe that´s for the best.

Can you please add an emoticon representing a Kiwi atop a stallion in a referees uniform performing a painful sex act on a prone Wallaby with a whistle?, and another of a aging moustachioed Wallaby foaming at the mouth and pointing the finger?

I think both of these may come in handy in about 4 days time.

GG, I'm certainly not going to go googling pictures of the 1st one Wink. Let alone make it a smiley. And I doubt you'll find a jpg of the second one small enough to make a smiley ...

Mainly the sheer number of them Alyn. And being consistent, we've said in the site rules that embedded pics should be hidden by a spoiler - though I grant you something as small as a smiley is different to a jersey pic.

I'm going to look at adding some of them, but I do have to get some (paid) work done this afternoon Smile

Tri-nations all tooled up for an emoticon blitzkrieg in the run-up to the RWC.

And the poor downtrodden NH are left bereft of defensive imagery.
