Music Cup Round 1: Names

Well here we go, the first round of the Music Cup, I won the last edition (boo hiss I hear you cry) so the pressure is on me to retain my title, it’s even harder this time round as well as we have even more people entered and I only get to choose my track until after everyone has picked theirs.

So without further ado lets kick it off.
Pick from the poll above your fave 3 tracks. This round is based on songs that have a person’s name within the title.

Billie Jean - because it's immense
Dani California - because I'm in a John Frusciante mourning phase.
St Jimmy - because its epic, and from the best concept album in recent years.

I also voted for two out of those three. However, I'm not much of a Chili Peppers fan, so my other choice was...I can't remember. Possibly Valerie, but I'm not too sure

Mrs Robinson - Classic track to a classic film.
St. Jimmy - Same reasons as Demon. It's also used in my 'About Me' section on FB.

I voted for mine (as I still believe it is the best on the list), Buddy Holly and Valerie (only because it wasn't the Ronson version). Two songs that I may have chosen if I had thought of them!

I was going to choose Lyla but didn't on the basis that alot of people seem to dislike Oasis in general!

The solo is basic in the extreme, but I think it fits perfectly to the song.

As an old rocker I considered Beth by Kiss. I know Kiss took a good kicking from hardcore fans for allegedly "selling out" by producing this piece of schmaltz but I must confess to it being one of my guilty pleasures

Have you seen the film Beautiful Girls - the soundtrack is excellent(which also has Sweet Caroline on it strangely)
