ok peeps im a big fan of the dance music scene, having decks for years and a great collection of tunes.
I just wanted to share some of my favourite tracks that have inspired me over the years and will post a few youtube links over time to give you a taste of the music i like.

To start off we have an all time classic. Bob Sinclar - World Hold On.
A brilliant tune with a baseline thats been used in so many mixes and mash up mixes (mash up is 2 tunes played together for the whole tune).

This one is my favourite mash up mixes with modjo, and combined with the vintage sesame street pinball video it sets the standard for my future posts.

bob sinclar vs modjo - world hold on (sonny bonds remix) Click Here

And if you have any favourite dance tunes you would like to share please post them here thumbsup

There are so many different types of 'dance music' that it can be diffiicult to say what style is the best, Im a massive fan of the more soulful type of house music such as

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z4eLgIZC66c

but there are many tracks that would fall into techno, house, breakbeat, electro etc

This thread is to give people an insight into the various styles of dance music out there, whether it be hard trance, euro, techno or house. Good tune David I like it !

Today we see a progressive trance vision to pick me out after a hard day. The baseline is wonderfully introduced with a melodic chorus that blows you away.

Im feeling a bit old skool today so thinking back over some classics one imediately pops into mind.

Tony de Vit was a great pioneer (rip) in the music industry both as a producer and dj. Some of his houses mixes are legendary.

I wouldn’t say I was a dance fan but I pretty like most music genres.
I was in my teens in the early 90’s so used to love all the stuff like 808 State, Orbital, Shaman, early Prodigy, Snap, Smart E’s. Less so on 2Unlimited & Culture Beat though.
Had myself a whistle, glowstick, smiley t-shirt and a tub of vics vapour rub too.

That track was a bit hard for me Y I Man, this is about as hard as I get. Proper old school tune but it used to be my favourite when I first started going to Sankeys, Green Velvet-La LA Land

No dance music thread would be complete without an honorary Ibiza mention.
Some great tunes have spilled out from their shore into the mainstream.

Today we have one of the Ibiza classics

Solar Stone - Seven Cities (Original)

As with some of these tunes a great chill out mix was produced Solar Stone - Seven Cities (Ambient Dub)

ok guys, got a new CD yesterday and im bouncing away to it now on my mp4, i had to share this tune with you if you like this sort of thing.

Good chorus, great bassline, but bouncy hardcore. Be warned, im not responsible for any breakages if you start dancing around the room and break anything

Awesome.

Well I'd like to recommend you take a listen to the 3CD album called Drum & Bass Arena - Complete Anthology. The three discs are a collection of Drum & Bass hits from 1993 - 2010. I had my eyes opened wide to how good some of the earlier stuff on the album was. The newer stuff had a lot of really good tunes from the likes of Sub Focus.

If you do give it a listen, let me know what you think! thumbsup

Right I havent put up a tune on here for a while, have to say the sade tune did nothing for me to be honest, mine is again something different to what I have put up before. I saw these two guys in the soapbar at Sankeys soap in Manchester. One guy djs, the other is the mc, its the audio bullys and real life

Must admit I prefer the 2nd album, cant believe the 1st came out in 2003! I notice they brought an album out last year, will check it out on youtube. Did you see them recently at Sankeys?

Heres a track by a producer I've been getting into the last year although I remember this one when it came out.

Hopefully this thread will pick up with people putting tunes up

Back in the day then! Funnily enough two friends of mine met them after they played at the Melkweg in Amsterdam which was probably around the same time & said the same as you. Have you heard the 3rd album? I'm a bit out of touch to be honest & was aware they were still going. Heard a good essential mix of theirs, quite different to their 1st 2 studio albums

Heres another tune from 2 current favorites,

Lucky you! I'm in Holland he plays here most years at the North Sea Jazz festival but its generally not like his tunes or probably what he played when you saw him last year. I've heard a couple of live mixes & they were really good. As I said he & Norma Jean Bell are 2 of my favorite producers & when they work together its even better! I think the guy is a real talent, one of Detroits finest & there seems to be a whole lot less hype surrounding him unlike some of the others. Somebody else I've got into over the last year or so is Dennis Ferrer, makes some nice tunes & done some nice remix work. He plays here quite a bit so would like to catch him sometime, its been a while since I hit the clubs, getting a bit old for it. I'll post one of his tunes, be nice as I said to keep this thread going.

Here's a tune which is one of my all time fave's.

The original is a great trance track, but then someone had to ruin it by re-mixing it with vocals. (true love never dies) furious

Anyways, here is the original Rank 1 - Airwave Click Here

So much that I could mention but two of the top of my head that I love are set you free by N - Trance and bits and pieces by Artmesia. Two brilliant songs that are very easy to mix in and a song most of the crowd know as soon as they here the beat.

Y I - I was really into dance music at one time. I did the whole rave scene of the late 80s/early 90s. Good times. I lost touch with dance music in the mid-90s though, so I wouldn't have a clue about it all nowadays. It's interesting to see some of your suggestions from now. Very Happy

I used to be right into metal and hard rock. But when I went to college I was introduced to dance music and loved it ever since. I still like rock, but the dance scene will always be my favourite.

Just came across a good trance mix by DJ Nordvik on youtube. Not the best mixing, but the tunes are immense.
