Rugby Challenge delayed for Europe Empty Rugby Challenge delayed for Europe

Post by perand25 Tue 30 Aug 2011, 8:51 pm

Just been looking at the Sidhe forums and it looks as though the release date has been put back to between sept 21 and oct 23 .I'm not sure if its to do with the publisher being naff or a patch being made ready for release as the game is riddled with bugs but it seems as though this could be a hude dissapointment too.

its a bit of a pain, rc looks the superior game yet it just looks as if no effort has been put in for NH people.

e.g manu tuilagi rated 62, henson being english, shane being 83 whereas phillips and byrne rated 89, adam jones rated 66, priestland rated 69. (stats out of 100) compared to aussie front row who cant scrummage rated in the 70/80s.

much more detail in SH players faces, ROG, ADAM JONES, BOD look nothing like real life.

its all bugging me big time and now this a later release date while Aussies, New zealanders and saffers are playing this game as i type. MOST IRRITATING THINK IS APART FROMA FEW MINOR FAULTS IT LOOKS A GOOD GAME AND GOOD START TO A SERIES =(

Sure every game you buy needs an update as soon as you put it in the console.
I won’t in the software business and software is always shipped with bugs, the hot fixes are always available before it ever reaches the shelves though.

I really want to get my hands on this game. looks very good.

Those Ratings are abit worrying, the system does let you update player ratings manually though..

But Im betting you cant use your manually created players in online play, which would suck if all your favourite teams/players have incorrect ratings.

Adam Jones rated 66,

I'd say thats spot on the guy is a blob of lard, his only got to look at food to increase his waistline.

Shane 83 again spot on.

To be honest I bought RWC2011 on friday, and no word of a lie I was done with it (as far as playing as a team that interests me) by the end of Saturday. So I am awaiting Lomu as atleast there will be a range of competitions and sides to play with as opposed to just one that matters.

Really dissapointed with this release date. I think Madden is out on Friday, so will be getting that now. I originally thought that I would buy both rugby games, but RWC looks pants. I will have to wait and see about RC.

Looking at the line-ups maybe the game is being delayed to get he NH teams re-adjusted so that the players are at the correct sides. For example the Ospreys have a team full of stars, where as now they have all left.

Yes Scarletspiderman I did see the Ospreys ratings and my eyes popped out of my head. Most of them were so high. You'd think the developers were Osprey fans. Adam Jones has a poor rating oddly enough despite being the O's best player.

Guys get a life and play the real thing, if you're playing days are behind you then get down your local club and start coaching kids and pass your knowledge on to others, instead of worrying about ratings and release dates.

You'll find it more rewarding Very Happy

I agree Hersh, but I like playing in real thing and the computer game. But I wont deny games have encouraged me todo stupid things, for example I play prop.. Dont ever try and kick the match winning drop goal!!! Managed to do it in the rugby 2008 game once with a prop, bit harder in real life. If the posts happened to be on the touch line I might have nailed it. Needless to say I got alot of abuse after and more fines than Id ever like to relive.

Beshocked - What I meant is they have Hook, Collins, Byrne, Phillips, Hollah, and Mitchell (if not more) who have left them over the summer. So fingers crossed that will be improved.

HERSH - i agree that playing or coaching would give a more realistic enjoyment. However to be fair there are not enough places on teams or teams to coach so that everyone with an interest in the game can actually be involved to any real level. And also I was dire as a player, and an not assertive enough to be a coach, so the playstation is about my limit.

The rosters are based on the start of last season I think, but they seemed to have got the looseheads and the tightheads mixed up for a few teams.

Apparently the game is a bit buggy but the developers are releasing patches pretty regularly. They seem to be taking note of whats being posted under the problems and issues discussion on the forum and sorting it which is good news.

In the meantime, rugby 11 is more than bearable online. Especially as most online players choose to play as England. It's nice to give them a battering!

Not aware of any of the stats being changed, but I think most supporters are going to be unhappy with their teams. For example, Dragons have Danny Lee as first choice and he is rated higher than Wayne Evans who is on the bench, Matthew Jones is first choice and rated considerably higher than Tovey!

Just read that review Bath. There was always going to be imperfections when launching a new franchise like this. Games like FIFA have evolved and been tweaked for years. This one sounds like a very good first outing. Hopefully it sells well. Bi-annual releases in every World Cup and Lions tour year would suit me.

I hope they get these stats sorted out. Castro 68 & Tiny 52 is laughable.
I've just seen the Glaws side:
1. Doran-Jones 57
2. S. Lawson 61
3. Dickinson 67
4. Hamilton 63
5. Attwood 65
6. Strokosch 71
7. Qera 64
8. Narraway 69
9. R. Lawson 67
10. Burns 60
11. Voyce 70
12. Tindall 76
13. Simpson-Daniel 77
14. Vainikolo 77
15, Morgan 70
-----------------
16. Azam 55
17. Wood 53
18. Brown 50
19. Hazell 71
20. Lewis 53
21. Fuimaono-Sapolu 67
22. Sharples 58

PDJ, Azam & Dickinson have all left!

There is an edit function in the game, but it's going to be a right pain to have to change every team.
