Old Skool!
Thought there should be a thread dedicated to the old school games, the likes of the Spectrum, Commodore 64, Atari 2600, Amiga etc.
So if you like your games 8 bit and on cassettes that take 30 minutes to load and then crash anyway then here’s the place!
The only rule is that the game has to be 10+ years old.
I’ll set the ball rolling with a few:
Populous
Regarded as one of the first God sims and it was a classic. Peter Molyneux (of Fable fame) and Bullfrog created this game that had me hooked for months on end.
Speedball 2: Brutal Deluxe
Bitmap Brothers finest hour IMO, it rendered me useless for many years on football games as I went out to cripple the opposition.
Sensible Soccer
And speaking of football games, you can take your ultra realistic FIFAs and PRO EVOs, give me overhead goals from 40 yards anyday.
Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge
Just a beautiful beautiful game, infuriating as hell but beautiful
Lords of Chaos
Control a wizard, go kill stuff, loved it!
Baldurs Gate
Big inspiration for the likes of World of Warcraft, I smite you with +4 sword!

Re: Old Skool!
the original "Striker" for the Commodore Amiga was the best football game for years! Also was good the SNES till ISS Deluxe was introduced.

Best man management game for me was Soccer Double 2 for C64. Remember putting the cassette in before school then getting home to find it had just finished loading up
midnight resistance commodore 64 was a good shootem up as well
